Due to the trees it is relatively cool on hot summer days. In Lormes , which has a nice atmosphere, there are supermarket, several good shops for food and some cafe’s. The surrounding is suited for some shorter day trips and for walking. For cooling down on hot days there is a small lake at a 15 minutes walk from the house"

Significant road noise in main bedrooms but sofa beds in quiet air conditioned living room. Very spacious house and garden. Owner was very attentive. We had very pleasant stay with primary age children."

The owner made many thoughtful changes when they renovated the house - lights that turn on and off automatically , well appointed and stocked kitchen , comfortable bedding , clean bathrooms , great shower pressure and plumbing , excellent doors and windows - the list goes on and on . The owner , Jacques was kind to answer all our questions pre arrival and Michelle the manager greeted us and cheerfully showed us all the elements of this house. Asnieres Sous Bois...

"The location and Gite were fantastic, right by a river which Bruno was fishing for Cray Fish! Bruno couldn’t do enough for us and the lovely Chocolate Ganache was excellent! Very quite, peaceful, beautiful walks through the woods and can’t wait to get back there next year!"

"We loved our time at Champallement which is a very pretty village in beautiful countryside. Our host was extremely helpful prior to arrival and the house is just as described in the listing. Comfortable beds, high quality dishwasher and washing machine, a good garden for us and our dogs (though a determined dog could escape quite easily). Kitchen was well equipped but small for more than one person. Very good shower. Fantastic dog walks all around and lakes for swimming just 15 minutes away...

Generally well equipped but no top sheets were provided to replace duvets during the heat wave we experienced. Also very surprised to find that there were no cushions for the plastic patio chairs. Unfortunately the owner was on holiday during our stay and the caretaker didn't speak English otherwise some of these problems might have been resolved. Access to the patio is...
