Yes, you'll be "roughing it" a bit, but Kathy, Grady and Grady (mom, dad and son) provide all the necessary amenities. Especially if you've got kids, give this a try. "The cottage was comfortable and close enough to walk anywhere in town. We surprised about 10 deer in the back yard upon arrival, including a couple bucks. The Mountain views are great. Joseph is full of nice people and welcoming businesses, and the region is truly spectacular. Everything was just as the host described."

"This a cozy tent next to a horse pasture. You have a stunning view of the Wallowas in the morning and evening. It is clean and warm, with a hot shower. This is the perfect place to stay after some lovely long hikes. Close to town but yet secluded. I have stayed here before and I hope to do so again in the future. The hosts are welcoming, kind, and always ready to help."
