I do wish I knew ahead of time that you need to bring your own water for cooking. There is water at the bathhouse and camper but both are lake water. Even with the snow falling, we spent our evenings building cozy fires in the outdoor pit and enjoying the hot tub. When we weren't outside, the basement TV made for perfect movie nights. "Newly renovated rooms and hotel with breakfast and a pool helped us select this hotel in Brockville. Location is great, and renovations are certainly underway, but not complete. The front office is in a guest room temporarily and the main floor is in full renovation mode. Our room was well appointed and very clean. The staff were lovely and helpful, however, clearly understaffed at the moment with the additional needs and changes for guests. Thankfully the pool remained open and the breakfast...

"Second night stay, room smelled like sewage. Got a second room and bathroom had sewage smell. The gym equipment is broken and barely works. Cables snapped off. Should Not advertise fitness room If the equipment doesn’t work or isn’t maintained. Staff was excellent and food is good. Would stay again but prefer rooms that smell good. "

"The room was really clean however there was a lack of hot water for a shower at night and in the morning and bugs in the hot tub when we tried to use it at night other than that it was an excellent getaway nice warm fireplace nice shower and being downtown near restraints museums and the waterfront made everything within walking distance overall I would gladly go back again probably will in the near future"

"This a sadly neglected gorgeous old building. It felt like staying at someone's grandma's house. Dust, cobwebs, generally dirty, previous guest's food crumbs on the kitchen floor, dispensers in the shower completely empty, no milk and cream in the fridge as advertised. Passive aggressive garish signage about the "rules" all over the room and property. Way overpriced. Only redeeming quality is location. "

Jen communicated well, giving all the needed instructions about entry and free parking etc. The room and all areas of the property were well appointed, very clean and had obvious attention to detail. This place is off the charts in character. I had coffee in the turret and looked out to see the St Lawrence River. The stairs require some attention by anyone who climbs them. If was a bit more expensive than other options but well worth the extra. "
