"Our first time back in Belize in 18 years . Umaya was the perfect place. The views over the lagoon towards the Maya mountains are perfect backdrop after a day at the beach and pool. The staff were great, very helpful with booking trips etc. The restaurant is excellent and the wood burning Pizzeria provides a great alternative. We will be back "

"My wife and I stayed May 6 through May 11th at Almond Beach and had the beach cottage. We loved being steps from the beach with our own deck. The room was large and inviting. We used our outside shower the entire time preferring the breeze and sound of the ocean day and night. The ceiling fan didn’t work and the housekeeper brought us a stand up fan which was great. "Authentic hotel to stay at. Beautiful. Note, there is a lot of seaweed so you can’t go in the water. Well you can a little on the left hand side. There are a lot of waves. I saw a couple go to the pier and jumped in for their daily swim. Also, the price for diner or anything you purchase at hotel from spa to food or anything else, it’s US Dollars. "We loved staying here and will do so again. The property was gorgeous and right on the water. We took the kayaks right on the water from the dock and enjoyed this so very much. We saw so many birds, an aligator, and astingray! We also spent a lot of time in the raised tree house area.
