"Unfriendly, unhelpful staff. Loud music from the hotel's reception played late at night meant that sleep was almost impossible. Also the layout of the rooms on the ground floor meant that the shower from one room was adjacent to the bedroom in the next room (with a glass screen in between), so that the noise of the shower plus any noise from the next room could be heard all too clearly. "Hotel Camino Real is an excellent hotel to spend you time in Peten/Tikal an amazing staff makes you feel like a movie star … they are so amazing providing customer service and the food as well unique… great variety of food for breakfast, Lunch/Dinner …Defiantly would be back to stay , just because the staff, GM should be proud of his team."

"The staff was very helpful. The view of the lake was awesome. The hotel was quiet and peaceful overall. We could hear loud club music from another hotel or restaurant nearby but I was still able to sleep. An easy 10 minute walk to restaurants on Flores island. They let us check out late which was very helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone!"

"The location of this hotel was the nicest thing about it but there are many hotels of equal quality next door and around the corner that I will check out the next time I am in Flores. The owner was nice enough and checked us in. The hotel was an Ecolodge that used rain water/solar for hot showers and that they are energy conscience. Our room was fine, bathroom was very small--sit on the toilet and hit your knees on the door. We had no soap for washing your hands or showering with. We had to ask...

"Lovely stay here and would recommend. But it would help if hotel put prices up by 10% to negate the stealth tip tax at the end which was added after signing off individual meal and drink bills. Would rather sort my own tips out. Picky but irritating."
