"Having been told there was plenty of parking we arrived to find a car rally had taken virtually every space. When we enquired whether there would be spaces later on our return from going out for dinner we were told we could park on nearby streets, not very appealling with a fully packed car! In the end the rally had left by the time we got back, though why reception didn't say this heaven only knows! Otherwise a perectly functional hotel well postioned for visiting the local area."

"I was in the area of Albert, France to tour sites associated with the WWI battle of the Somme in 1916. I thought this place was just wonderful. The room I had was clean and comfortable with a very nice modern walk in shower. The hostess/owner, Muriel spoke English which I appreciated. She did a fabulous job on the breakfast each morning. It's just a couple of miles away from the town of Albert and she told me that there is a factory down at the end of the road that makes parts for Airbus planes...

"First of all, the room didn’t resemble any of the pictures shown on the website. Our room reeked of old cigarr and we had to have our Windows opened at all times. The beds were not comfortable and really worn out, and the toilet and the shower resembled more those found aboard ships. The staff couldn’t speak one Word in english, but Google translate did the trick. The breakfast was really simple with limited options. We were not satisfied with the overall experience."

"This is a great property that backs up to the Somme River. The view in the backyard is beautiful. The enclosed patio is a great place to read or have dinner. There is lots of shade from the 4 huge willow trees. There are lots of birds and frogs, and you can see hundreds of fish in the river. It’s very peaceful. The house itself is fairly basic but clean and it has everything you need. The owners have good communication. I highly recommend this property."

"La Sablonniere was a beautiful, tastefully decorated property fitted with high quality fittings, linen and towels.It was in an excellent position for exploring the memorial sites of our Workd Wars as well as being near the quaint Perry town of Albert with bars and restaurants m.Chrystelle and Bertrand were helpful, approachable lovely kind people. We will definitely recommend this property and will almost certainly return.Thank you"

The booking form did not make clear the accommodation was a tent. and did not include such basics as towels, Pillows, bedding etc. We were offered a wooden building fully equipped apart from the above. In view of the uncertainty of finding alternative we reluctantly accepted and improvised despite my age (86).
