"Very nice and clean old-style Hawaiian home in rural area. It is very private and quiet although it is likely you will hear the resident fowl and frogs. It is very close to a number of historic sites, beaches, and hikes--and interesting country roads. A few stores in Hawi and Kapuu have coffee and other snacks (and local art) and there is a nearby grocery. If you are looking for "off the beaten path" this place should be on your list. "

Hale Laulea is even better than the pictures. It is bright and spacious. It has great air circulation so you can open screened windows to have natural air flow without running the AC. "I'd love to give this place a bad review because then we can book it any time without worrying about it already being booked, but I just can't. This place was PERFECT for our family. The A/C in the bedrooms was lovely. The private pool was fantastic. The living space was great. The view was magical. The beds were super comfortable. We will definitely be back! "We loved our stay. Such a peaceful place with an incredible view. The hale itself is super comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Excellent location for the best swimming beaches on the island, which are a short drive away. We were a bit unlucky with the mosquitoes in what's normally a very dry area—hopefully next time will be more typical. A very special spot that was exactly what we were looking for. Showering under the stars was especially memorable! "
