"The owner/host and housekeeping staff were very friendly and nice to talk to. They can arrange tuk tuk for the guests and home style food was so delicous. Due to its location, guests will need to have insects repellent spray applied at all time. Overall very nice stay at villa birdlake. "

"We loved everything about this house and the marvelous staff. The house is set in a stunning garden with a spotless pool right on the beach at Gintota. The hpuae is beautifully appointed with 4 lovely bedrooms, a lounge, dining room and tv room. The staff were excerional and catered to all our needs. The food they prepared is the best I have eaten in 5 trips to Sri Lanka. We cannot wait to return. Thank you Bart for the use of the house and the service we received from your spectacular...

"Great accomodation and location, very quiet beach. But poor service. Staff, especially in the restaurant and bar, need better training and language skills. Hotel also tried to overcharge for the restaurant bill and had inconsistent policies regarding applying VAT and service charge on top of the bill, this varied between the various menus in the restaurant which is misleading for customers. "

"It's closer to Galle Fort. The staff are nice & helpful. But, all other facilities are basic and no hot water shower system and bath room is not clean. Old packets of tea / Coffee & sugar in the room. So, I couldn't make a cup of tea. "

"An oasis of calm in the countryside! Lovely rooms, lovely pool area & a fantastic place to watch the jungle wildlife! The manager was super helpful too. The beach is a 40 min walk away, or a short tuk tuk ride. "

"The Hilltop Boosa is a wonderful find. The rooms are not just big they are huge. very clean and comfortable. Our hosts were both friendly & helpful. We ate here each night and the food was excellent. We borrowed bikes ans were able to explore the local area. Transport was available if we wanted to go further afield. We really could not fault anything about Hilltop and we hope to be able to return"

"Leijay resort exceeded my expectations in many ways. The management and staff were very helpful and kind, the breakfasts were great and the environment was fantastic: a lovely pool, nice rooms and lots of birds and other wildlife all around. It is not next to Galle Fort, but it is easy to get to and from this quiet location to downtown. I will come back here!!"

"Horrendous. Under staffed and a witch of a manager who thinks she is doing us a favor by letting us stay. They call themselves a Boutique hotel, but i think they're living in a fools paradise. They had 33% occupancy while their competition had 90%, our stay was in second week of december, I happen to know this because I came across an internal communication of their. "We had a wonderful stay at Villa 80. Our room was comfy and Henry, his wife and staff couldn't do enough for us. The tranquil garden was a real haven and the pool was a bonus. We weren't far from excellent beaches and the railway station. A tuktuk was available to run us to wherever we wanted to be whether to the local market or local gardens. And the breakfasts were excellent."
