"Clean room, friendly staff, nice bar "

"While the property and location were excellent, our stay was significantly impacted when the air conditioning stopped working overnight. Maintenance could not resolve the issue, and sleeping in a hot room was very uncomfortable. We did not receive any compensation, which was disappointing"

"My STRONG advice is to pay extra for a superior room. I stayed the economy double and it was not nice. Do not stay in 113, we had roaches in our room. I also stayed in 43 (I think) no roaches. I will upload a picture of our view from 113. Looked at a wall with peeling paint. Pros of hotel: - Upper level rooms look nice (Superior rooms) - Included Breakfast is cooked to order, nice and fast! - Staff is nice - Close to town. You can walk to the ferry terminal. save $20 each in cab fare...

"Overall loved the location and amenities. Staff was also great. Only issue in our room is it needs a bed/mattress replacement. I felt like I was laying on different levels of plywood. Caused some back discomfort. "

The pool was small but very nice providing a view of the hills surrounding St. Thomas and overlooking the town itself. It was within walking distance of just about everything that we wanted to see. The room was small, not posh, but very clean and comfortable. It was exactly what we were looking for in our breif layover in St. Thomas and we will be back when we can...

"Close to the old town where there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. You will have to walk up some steep hills to get there. The property is beautiful with amazing views. The buildings are older historic structures that have been modernized just enough for comfort but still feel vintage enough. Perfect for a retreat and the hosts are very accomodating"

"The hotel is located in a bad, sketchy area and I did not feel safe during my stay. The room lacked basic amenities such as a safe, microwave, glasses, and tea/coffee facilities. The shower water temperature fluctuated between cold and warm, with very poor water pressure, and there was no shampoo provided. Additionally, there were problems with the electricity. "

"The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! "

"Several Other host Canceled my booking literallt at the lasr moment. Contacted customer service and the found this nice ducked off spot. Very nice view, room was clean and not too far from getting to nearby stores. My stay here was cool and relaxing. I would recommend. Tv's work but must have your own sign in info..Which I did not have. 5 stars for sure."
