"Best included breakfast of any of our stays at any hotel outside of the Thon hotels in Norway, really good stuff. Clean, convenient well thought out hotel in a lovely area. Go to the Pakk Húsið restaurant a block a way and you have an amazing stop on a ring road trip. I will note to anyone considering it, the room doors buzz loudly if not fully shut. This is either a security feature, part of the hotel’s history as a converted convent, or both. It seemed like there was an actively used chapel that was part of the hotel, something I’ve never seen before and hadn’t expected, so pointing it out in case that’s an advantage for someone considering a stay here. The room was spacious and nicely appointed. If they were looking to improve anything I would say it’s time to upgrade the bathroom lighting as it took. Some time to come on, but it was fine. Loved the place overall and highly recommend it. Side tip: Check out the goat farm on the way in or way out depending on your ring road trip direction. It’s the only one on Iceland and great animal therapy. "

"Friendly and comfortable. Equivalent to a Hampton Inn (USA)…. The bathroom setup was odd — the shower soaked the entire floor despite the “door” being closed but there was nothing to stop the water from soaking the floor. "

"Best guesthouse experience in Iceland. The location - by waterfalled cliffs and the bay - is beautiful, in an entire country of beautiful locations. The guesthouse itself functions also as an art space, which you can see in the entry hallway as well as in the design / decor of the place. The service is excellent - Thora and Sumar are wonderful hosts (and great gardeners) and Hubert was exceptionally welcoming. Also, notably eco-friendly - e.g., the food they serve they grow in their own greenhouse and/or source it locally, they compost, etc. Was the most peaceful time I had in Iceland and would absolutely stay here again."

"the man and women at the front desk were amazing. they went above and beyond for us. we were in a car accident (rear ended) on our first day in Iceland (about 15 minutes from the cottages) and were very stuck as we couldn’t drive the car or make phone calls. we got in contact with them and they not only picked us up but moved us into a room in the main part of the building so that we could be close to the front desk to use their phones to make many calls back and forth to our car rental company. their customer service was exceptional and we were so grateful for their kindness. the room itself was clean and having a tv and kettle in room was great. there also was a great coffee machine in the lobby. highly recommend this place. "

"Vogur Country Lodge is in a very remote part of Iceland. The area is stunningly beautiful and this hotel is a perfect place to stay as a gateway to the West and West Fjords. The hotel is clean, comfortable and well staffed by Constantin, who prepared incredible meals. The hotel has a hot tub and a sauna. It's a lovely place to stay. I hope I get a chance to come back!!"

"Loved this place - has everything you could ever need. Literally has a game room and relaxation room with massage chairs. Full dining options, several beautiful, large communal rooms. Heated pool and the killer hot spring complete with Viking style changing house. Total Icelandic package in one stay - 10/10"
