Peaceful 2-bedroom cabin on Lower Post Lake

"It was perfect for our four-day grouse and woodcock hunt in the langlade county forests. Although we didn't take advantage of it on this trip, it was clear from looking around that it has all a small family would need for a great northwoods vacation."

"It was nice to be on the 1st floor in one of your newer/updated rooms. The room was small but cozy, the bathroom was tiny but really a great use of space and nicely updated. The shower needs a good scrub to get rid of mildew. It was nice to have a breakfast but the only 2 hot items were cold, that was disappointing."

"The room was clean, bed was comfortable, but there the soap dispenser in the shower was empty, had to use bar of soap on the sink. The hotel in general was good for the price. Pool and hot tub were great until the girls fast pitch softball team took it over which seems to be the norm these days. The kids run wild through out the hotel while the parents are partying in a room. Most times the staff was no where to be found like when the coffee and food run out with a hour left for breakfast, or the soap dispenser is empty in your shower."

"We really enjoyed our stay! The weather changed on check-in day, and we were considering taking our UTV instead. I had several questions about the driveway, and Ellen responded right away and even sent photos to help us decide. We appreciated her quick response and willingness to help!The craftsmanship in this cabin is incredible. I especially enjoyed noticing the details in the log work and scribing, the handcrafted door pulls, along with the original window cranks and cabinet latches. The stone fireplace made it extra cozy, and arriving to find a fire already going was a great touch. The bed was comfortable, kitchen nicely appointed with everything necessary to cook and clean up. I loved using the cast iron on the propane stove. The outdoor bathhouse was warm and comfortable and shower was great.We took Kurt & Ellen’s suggestion and headed to Billy Timber’s Pub for a Wisconsin Friday night fish fry, and it hit the spot! Back at the cabin, we connected to the Wi-Fi and enjoyed a movie by the fire.We would have liked to spend more time outside, but the wind had other plans! Hopefully, we’ll get to enjoy more of the setting on another visit.Thanks, Kurt & Ellen, for sharing this special place with us!"

"The property was beautiful inside and out. We didnt spend much time outside but had a blast hanging out inside. The beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again."

"This is a motel that is far above most I have stayed in. Room is clean, the temperature was set to what I liked before I got there. Most times at other places the room is hot or cold and you have to wait for the catchup time before it would be comfortable. The staff was perfect, new there job, performed it perfectly. I didn't eat breakfast. The pool and hot tub were not in service and new this before I rented. I also wouldn't use the pool or hot tub anyway, wouldn't have had time. The best part was I needed to cut the trip short by a day and was issued a refund for that day. I didn't have to ask for the refund. I have already spread the good news to the family I visited and they will now know to send people to this motel."

"What a unique and fun experience to stay in a WWII DC3! It's a beautiful setting and quite spacious. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck, grilling burgers, watching the falling leaves and listening to the birds."
