Welcome to this modern mountain home nestled away in the perfect private location for you and your guests! Walk out your front door and hike to Logcatcher falls, one of many miles of trails in this hidden treasure of a community,Powder Horn Mountain.

This home was built in 2007 and sits on 1.39 acres. Just one step from parking to front door. 3 bedrooms on main level, Queen,Queen,Twin. Upper level with master,KING, and small loft with Twin. Upper level also has small library and desk space with monitor. Lower level includes Kitchen, fully equipped: full size fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher, small appliances, blender,crockpot,12 cup drip coffee maker, pots, pans, cutting boards, small array of spices and pantry items, serving dishes, utensils, and more! There is also a propane grill on the deck for our barbecue aficionados!

This house does have central heat and air. Towels and bedsheets are provided and one roll of toilet paper per bathroom and one roll of paper towel in the kitchen per reservation. Also on main level living room, access to all decks, laundry and one full bath with tub and shower. Floor to ceiling windows and the VIEW.... best enjoyed with coffee or wine from the screened in porch!

This house DOES ALLOW PETS. Pet fee is $50 per pet and will be charged after you book. Limit of two pets per reservation please. Make sure you plan to sit and stay a while once you get here you won't want to leave! Powder Horn is a gated community with a seasonal community pool, three ponds,(that you can fish in!) Campground (many trail heads start here) clubhouse, fitness center, game room, playground, chapel, tennis court, and half basketball court. We do have trash pick up every Monday. We ask that guests bag all trash before they place in outside trash bins. There is no recycling at the house but there is a recycling center on Elk Creek Road, guests are encouraged to take their recyclables there during their open hours (Mon,Wed,Fri,Sat) House does have WIFI with Riverstreet wireless this is a line of site unlimited data, fiber based, wireless system with standard speeds. It would be viable for zoom calls and streaming just please do so in SD. There are Two TV's with Direct Tv and one TV with a DVD player! Powder Horn Mountain is approximately 13 miles from King St in Boone. It is about a 25 min drive in mountain time. The closest grocery store is Food Lion at the intersection of 421 and old 421 about 8 miles. Additional grocery stores include Lowes Foods, Publix,Harris Teeter and Earth Fare. We recommend that you buy groceries before you arrive, you really won't want to leave when you get here, however, we do have lots of options for those that choose to explore! Local wineries like Grandfather Vineyards, breweries including Molly Chompers, AMB and Booneshine, restaurants galore! Tweetsie Railroad is about 30 miles so about 45 mins and same for most of the ski resorts like Sugar Mountain. You are about 45 mins to Blowing Rock from Powder Horn but it is a gorgeous drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway! For our anglers please note we are right next to Elk Creek which is a state stocked trout stream. You will need your fishing license if you fish there. The ponds within the community are private so licenses are not necessary. We look forward to having you!

Cabin modern
The property was very nice...modern. The location of the cabin is further into the woods. Expect a drive with twists and turns. The isolation was nice though.

Great stay!
The owner was very accommodating, the house was clean and the location was perfect for what we were looking for. We enjoyed the peaceful setting (we sipped coffee while watching deer and turkeys from the porch some mornings) but also appreciated that the towns of Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk were only a short drive away.

Holiday Getaway
We had a great stay at this cabin. It was very clean and accommodated our group well. We especially enjoyed the fire pit and walking our dog around the neighborhood. It was also nice that they had a Christmas tree up, since we were there for the holidays. We would definitely stay again!!

The communication was the best part for me! We had small children and lots of questions. They responded in a timely manner, provided options for local attractions, connections to a dula, and realistic conditions. Everything we needed to make this trip a Success!

Relaxing Retreat
The house is in a Wonderful neighborhood in rural watagua county, not far from Wilkes and Caldwell counties. Amazing hiking trails and clubhouse. The home is updated and very comfortable. Great place to get away from it all.

Even Nicer Than The Photos
This house is as remote as the description indicates. There is abundant seating without crowding. Everything looks new and is spotless. The kitchen has every type of cookware, serving dish and gadget, but we still ate every meal out. There are way more plates, glasses and utensils than could ever be needed, all perfect. The screen porch was nice in the evening, but we did not use the fire pit or other outdoor seating areas. A lot of thought went into the layout and design. This is the perfect getaway.

Beautiful, cozy, serene
We unfortunately could only stay for two nights, the property had everything one would need. It was clean and modern on the inside. Such a cozy property with a lot of space. We will return.
