"Very friendly and welcoming. Excellent breakfasts and generally a comfortable place to stay. Having a guest fridge and being able to heat your own food instead of eating out every evening was a great facility."

"An amazing stay at the Dale Head Hotel! Beautiful location and well-manicured grounds to walk around. There is access to the lake from the property, but not easily - the path is a little over-grown. The Manager, Dale, was lovely and could not have been more helpful. We were there to hike Helvellyn, and he advised us that Swirls Car park (beginning of the hike) is easily accessed from the hotel by a woodland footpath, rather than the main road, or paying for the car park. "First arrived and the sign to the hostel was covered so you can’t see where to go We met a really nice lady who told us we should had an email with booking room number we we didn’t.. "The 3 course meal was al a carte status, excellent made by chef/ owner. Lovely bedrooms and v clean and owners very welcoming. Lovely views and walks nearby. For children the wildlife park is worth a visit nearby. "

"I stayed in the Alcock Tarn suite. Totally gorgeous overall - the bed and pillows were super comfy. The rain shower and rolltop bath were brilliant and the sofa in the living room great for chilling with a book. The fridge allowed for snacks and drinks. Will be back! "
