Clean and tidy with all the essentials included. Very central location. Its a cheaper than some and so attracts a mix of cients. And its on the edge of the area where bands etc happen. Would be great option for backpackers and those wanting a compact place to sleep.

Excellent location with budget price
Excellent location with budget price.
I literally just slept in the bed for about 6 hours and took off very early in the morning, the hotel provided everything I needed.
Staff were good, super easy to walk to the CBD and public transport, room and the general facilities were clean (didn't use the pool/kitchen/laundry, so can't comment on these). This is a budget hotel, so don't expect much in terms of room size or frills. Despite it looking slightly dodgy from the outside, it is well secured, didn't feel unsafe once. Room smelt very very stale, I think that the air conditioner filter needs to be cleaned. The rooms are not soundproofed, so you can hear doors banging, and if you're lucky enough to be next door to a very loud snorer you'll hear that as well. However, for the price it was really good, has everything that you need for a decent sleep
This place is misleading in advertising . It is a second build
Ing behind the main hotel that is actualey a back packers . It backs onto Mitchell Streek next door to pubs, and other backpacker hostels . Night life rages on until 5am and it gets wild . Lots of loud party music and banging doors , people screaming loudly . By 8am the street sweepers have done their job and the streets are deserted and safe again .Rooms are tiny unappealing cells with a tiny bathroom that was basic . Think of a jail cell and you get the picture .The room was basically clean. When you eventually found Reception which is in the main building not the back packers were friendly but sworne to secrecy about the other building out the back . I was told to go down the corridor and through the door . . Thank God you are here runs through my brain as i step out the door .

Thankfully we only stayed half a night as we had the midnight check in for our flight home. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating however our room was less than ordinary at best. Apart from a few cockroaches walking around, the blanket that was folded up on the shelf next to the bed smelled like it had never been washed……ever. We did however have front row seats to a couple of locals punching on in the street literally just below us. The music from the surrounding hospitality venues was LOUD. The rooms are tiny and the shower is an odd shape and if you’re on the larger side, good luck getting in and then out again. My partner and I are adamant that we will never ever stay there again.
The location is easily the best of any hotel in the CBD but the accommodation is in need of modernisation. The doors are not sound proof, the rooms not cleaned to an even basic standard, and the mattress (room 28) is in dire need of replacement. But for the price, location, convenience and the pool it’s a good option for the budget travellers.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Wotif address is incorrect, so I was dropped with 40kg of baggage a few hundred meters from the actual entrance. The place overall is good enough for the price if you need somewhere to rest your head, but my sheets weren’t clean, there were black spots and stains all over them and fake eyelashes literally everywhere, so I slept on my towels for the few hours I was there for before heading back to the airport.

STRANGE ADDRESS - hard to find the place
It is advertised as DCH on Mitchell and address as 50 Mitchell street BUT it is really at 59 Smith Street - had trouble finding it till was given directions- reception is at 59 Smith Street then I had to walk along a corridor and across a street to another building and scan with my card to enter another building gate then again to open the door to get to lift then finally to my room first floor- the room was clean but basic good towels and face washers -shower was small and when I went to turn on the water the handle on one of the taps fell off on to the floor. The pool was very small and didn’t use it. Not too bad for one night for me but would not go there again
Very handy to food ,pubs etc….. behind shower doors need a good clean (scrub)& also under the bin bag in the bin was absolutely filthy.
Other than that , it was very nice thank you & affordable to enable you to spend extra time on the Mitchell or within Darwin.
We will never stay there again . I took photos of the unbelievable condition of the room nr 61 we stayed in . I sent the manager an email with the photos attached and have still not heard anything back . People need to be warned about this place .

It was difficult to locate property at first, as it was located off a lane behind the street that was advertised. The room itself was basic only, similar to backpackers which was located next door. About $50 cheaper.
