"The AC is SO loud. The property could be really cool if it was renovated a bit. Great location, great view, comfy bed and location but random things located in the hallway, rickety elevator and like I said the AC woke us up every hour. "

"The room was clean, although the property itself, is in a sketchy area & done of the people staying their were a bit sketchy, too. This was my second time staying there & both times there were police at the location responding to a disturbance. Thankfully, this didn't occur at night. Both occasions seemed to be during the middle of the day."

"This place is a wonderful Bed&Breakfast : the owners are the kindest and most patient people, the house is gorgeous, the themed bedrooms are very comfortable: I had the “Writer’s Retreat” one and absolutely loved it! The bathroom and the bedroom were very clean and the morning breakfast was absolutely delicious! This is definitely a place that I will come back to. It was lovely meeting the other guests and exchanging with them during breakfast. I loved it all ! One negative point : My stay was way too short. I did manage to add one night (so I stayed from Friday through Wednesday), but I wish I could have stayed longer."

"We were a little nervous booking this home since it was our first time using VRBO and we noticed a few reviews that weren’t 5 stars. But I’m so glad we went for it—our experience was awesome!The house has an older, nostalgic charm that really added to the stay and definitely didn’t disappoint. Check-in was seamless, and we were pleasantly surprised with a thoughtful snack basket, which was a nice touch.We especially loved how quiet the area is—it made for a very relaxing getaway. There was plenty of space for our family to spread out, spend time together, and truly enjoy each other’s company.Also, thank you for the quick and helpful responses whenever we had questions. That made everything even smoother.Overall, a great experience—we’d definitely stay here again!"

"This was my first VRBO and things could not have gone better. It turned out to be perfectly suited for us. Every room was neat and clean, the kitchen especially was well stocked with spices, pots and pans, flatware, coffee makers, etc., and the roomy back yard is a great place to relax at the end of the day. The air conditioner was set perfectly and never needed adjusting. There are plenty of towels, washcloths and handsoap, as well as toiletpaper and tissues in the bathrooms. The house is in a lovely tree-lined neighborhood just a short drive from the major arteries connecting you to Fort Eustis, Newport News, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach. Lisa is a fantastic host who responds right away to inquiries and knows a lot about the area. If you have a problem with stairs, that might be the only drawback to this property, but overall, the house has the feel of a friendly cottage and we were very comfortable there. Thank you Lisa!"
