"We can highly recommend the Le Meridian hotel outside Split on the beach. Be aware that it is a good 20+ minute ride out of town. That being the case, don't get into a cab unless you negotiate in advance the price of the trip. We were conned into a cab ride from the marina and the driver tried to charge us 75 Euros to get to the hotel. "We loved this hotel for its location (on the water and steps away from the old town), its curb appeal, well designed interior, spacious and luxurious rooms and the friendly and helpful staff. "Great stay. Like the location. We focused mainly in the Riva area but it was close to the highway which is also useful for us since we drove. It was away from thicker traffic and we ubered to the Old town to avoid parking headache. Fare was usually 5-7 EU. Not bad for 7 to 10 min drive. Interior was nice, pool area was great. Room was clean. Housekeeping was attentive. I recommend this place for a stay in Split. The location worked well for our need."
