"Wonderful hotel within about a 10-15 minute walking distance from Izunokuni station. Also a short bus ride away if it's too hot.
The rooms are spacious and beautiful. Amenities include public bath, and even two massage chairs you can use for free! Staff is also very helpful with your questions.
One inconvenient thing is the hotel restaurant takes last order at 8:30 pm, which is really early."

"Very nice, new and clean. Food was great with side selection of both meat fish and vegetable dishes. The foot spar was under maintenence but it was too hot to sit outside anyway. Nice place would definitely stay again as it's also located a few mins walk from sea and the newly revitalized shopping streets."

My only complaint is that I didn't stay there longer. The area and hotel are so calm and peaceful, and the beach views are unbelievable. Definitely recommend for those hoping to get off the beaten path. I'd recommend two nights so you get really get a chance to relax and take advantage of the baths, pool, and beach.

Easily one of the best hotels I've every stayed at. The staff is courteous, helpful, and very professional. Despite its age, the hotel does not feel old or worn out - I was pleasantly surprised by how well maintained, clean, and neat everything was. The rooms were generously spacious, offered an amazing view of Mt. Fuji in the early morning, and a wonderful view of the bay at night. Very clean room and attentive staff. We enjoyed a half board each day and were met with an exquisite multitude of Japanese traditional foods and delicacies. The surrounding town is quiet, and uber/taxi is available for travel. This is an amazing experience to immerse yourself in Japanese culture, reset, and unwind. Our favorite part would have to be the onsen.

Wonderful stay at Ryokan Kikuya. It's picturesque, with the stream running through it. Impeccable service, attentive yet discreet. Situated at the heart of Shuzenji Onsen town, one can go on short or long walks with interesting sites to visit.

Beautiful property - absolutely breathtaking from the moment you arrive. The staff were super nice and helpful. David who works at the tea bar is also lovely. Amenities are great here and the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. We never wanted to leave. We got the forest room and it was so nice to wake up to. The public bath was also super clean and nice. Our skin felt great afterwards. Would highly recommend the dinner and breakfast there also. It was a big meal but so delicious.

Excellent service. Not only was the stay memorable for us but the hotel staff exceeded expectations. When Uber blew it on a timed taxi hailing, they shuttled us up to the station to make our train - off schedule. Great service!
The buffet is also awesome and rooms are so sweet! Views are excellent and the location is at the heart of the beachfront. Pretty great spot to experience Atami.

What a gem! We stayed at Ishinoya after our 4 days of non-stop walking and touring Tokyo and before another 3 manic days of touring Kyoto. It was such a needed reprieve! I wish we could have stayed one more night before heading home.
We booked the room with a private tub, but I tried the public bath very early one morning when it was empty. It was just pure bliss!
You do have to reserve dinner/breakfast in advanced. We're lucky there was one spot left for breakfast. I would have wanted to do...

A fantastic getaway. A trip down to Izu peninsula is a common adventure for most in the Tokyo area, however the choice between towns isnāt always clear. This property takes away any concern. It was AMAZING! My friend and I stayed for one night and it was the highlight of our entire trip in Japan. The food was incredible, the staff were extremely nice and helpful and attentive. And of course the onsens were immaculate. Everything was top tier, would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a classic Japanese experience but with modern comforts and breathtaking views!!

There isnāt much to do nearby, so itās really a place to relax, enjoy the onsen, eat, sleep, read, and unwind. I highly recommend booking the half-board option since there are very few dining choices outside the hotel.
We had a room with a private bath, which was wonderful. However, the bedroom was upstairs, and I didnāt feel very safe using the stairs at night. I wouldnāt recommend this type of room for families with young children or anyone with mobility concerns.
