"We stayed here in July for one night and it was like being invited to a house party. The welcome could not have been friendlier. The accommodation was perfect and the little terrace was bathed with early evening sunshine, very pleasant. The Air con was very welcome later though. We didn't have the evening meal but it smelled delicious!! Breakfast was exactly what we needed. it was ideal and a lovely change from a chain hotel. Thanks, A little Gem!! "

"We had a really comfortable stay at Le Kouloury. Our hosts were very friendly and instantly made us feel at home. Our room was very clean and comfortable and a delicious breakfast was provided. "We were warmly welcomed at this property. We could tell the owners take special care in small details to provide a delightful experience for their guests. They went out of their way to help us find a place to eat dinner since we visited during the end of the season and most restaurants were closed. The breakfast was lovely, and we enjoyed the company of the dogs and the local cat. Our room was beautiful, the decor top notch. You will be delighted to stay here."

"The owners, Thierry and Anne-Marie, we two of the nicest people we have ever met in our entire lives. They always did everything possible to make sure our stay was extraordinary. They always worked so hard in every way possible to be sure that our stay was enjoyable!! We are sp appreciate to them as our 5 days at their Chateau was 5 of the best days we have ever had at any hotel or resort. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Thierry and Anne-Marie! "Unfortunately our stay was disappointing. On the advert it said dogs allowed but when we arrived we weren’t given the room advertised as there was a carpet on the floor. We were taken to an outside room which was very tired and old fashioned. We only stayed one night although booked for two. Probably much better in summer. The breakfast was very good but the dining room smelt very musty. Madame was very sweet - the hotel had been run by her parents for thirty years. It needs a little updating"

"La maison et ses lieux sortent d’un livre d’histoire. Les propriétaires sont sympa et nous ont accueilli à bras ouverts malgré notre réservation dernière-minute. Chambre au décor charmant et lit bien comfortable. Ils nous ont réservé une table au restaurant voisinant pour le dîner et ont recommandé des superbes lieux à explorer dans cette région enchantée. "Overall experience of the property: - Owners friendly, with a bottle of wine in the fridge on arrival - Fantastic pool and a lovely garden - Superb location to visit all of the key areas / sights within the Dordogne Few points to note: - The stairs in the property are very steep, therefore, not suitable for young children or the elderly - The wifi didn't work very well and was intermittent - not a deal breaker but useful to have - Very hot upstairs as no fans or a/c - again not a deal breaker...
