"Stayed in this apartment hotel for 2 nights in Apr23. We spoilt the hair dryer before we checked out, but could not inform the office as we checked out very early in the morning and the office was closed. The next day, I received an email informing us that they charged CHF500 to my credit card for spoiling the hair dryer and the TV. This is ridiculous. Their email mentioned that they gave us a perfectly working TV before we checked in. How can they accuse us for spoiling the TV a few minutes...

"The hotel is a little bit old but we'll maintained, the family room was big enough with a well equipped kitchen. The adventure park was great, suits for little kids"

"This place is really nice - we had a great four nights here, and were very lucky with the weather as it rained lots just before we arrived (it is "mountain weather" so you get what you get). We arrived "out of hours" but this had been prearranged so there is a safe with pin codes which was easy enough to use and we got our key and instructions very quickly. Parking is in an underground garage which you get into nearby reception using the key provided. Note that the door closes by itself once...

"Although it was advertised as a second floor, we truly had to walk approximately four floors from the street up to our second floor. I will say the view was beautiful, however finding the location and finding the management office to obtain the keys Was very difficult Additionally, the sofa bed was in such bad shape. We felt crippled when we left."

"We have been visiting Menaggio on a pretty regular basis since 1992 and have never had a bad experience. The Mira Al Lago was no exception. The place is marvelous. It is quiet, pleasant, clean, and offers a wonderful and relaxing view of Lago di Como from the house or from the perfectly placed patio. "Very nicely located property. 5-8 minutes to the water. Less than 1 km to train. Very competitive price. Only complaints, as they may be important to some renters. 4th floor walkup is 80 stairs to unit. Could be too much for some. Would've thought there would be instant coffee. Some would want tea. It's not there. Otherwise a great stay. All in all, these are minor issues unless they are deal breakers for you. They weren't for us"

"Pro's and cons: Pro's first: good location, a short drive from Luino, a good sized lakeside town. You can take ferries from Luino all round the lake, including to the Borromean islands. You'll have to spend some time aquainting yourself with the ferry timetable and a map of the lake. Nothing much goes on in Dumenza itself. There's a small supermarket that we didn't actually have to use, as we shopped out and about in the bigger towns. There is somewhere to get a coffee in the morning if you...

"Beautiful views of Lake Como and great indoor & outdoor spaces to enjoy. Brissa Ness restaurant nearby was great. And drives into Como & Bellagio and other towns where all good, yet a bit challenging with narrow road. Great stay."

"Great 180 view of lake with mountains opposite. Well appointed, fully equipped, and updated. There is a nice walking route connecting some nearby towns but you’ll want to drive to other towns for meals and outings (plenty enough close by) - not much in Colonno itself. The hillside is what gives you the view but also presents some “fun challenges” for street parking if the garage is not a good fit for for your vehicle size. All in all, a very fine option for couples, less so for children given...

"Love the apartment, but we struggled with some of the amenities and communication. The furniture was soiled and the apartment felt a bit run down. We also struggled with communication and we were constantly told contact another person on staff and could not get clear answers to questions and issues. The owner seems to depend on the location to rent the apartment but the details also matter."

"We loved the cosy Apartment and it was sufficient for our needs. However, we were not aware of such a busy road outside the entrance and with small children in toe a bit problematic to watch in the narrow street. Also, the metal sewer plate right in front of the apartment in the ground rattles every time a car drives over it. A bit disturbing to hear constantly in the apartment at night."

"The property was lovely and so nice to stay so close to the lake but also be a 2 minute walk removed from the lake walk. The hotel staff were very helpful and let us check out the evening before so we did not need to rush the morning of our departure to return the keys. "

"The apartment was perfect for my daughter and I. It’s centrally located and walkable to everything in Como. Only a 12 minute walk to the central station. A good grocery store just down the street. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. The staff were very helpful and friendly. "

"We had a two bedroom apartment with the most amazing views over Lake Como. The property owner was friendly and helpful. Every morning we enjoyed a lovely breakfast on the balcony with views of the lake. You have to walk roughly 4 to 5 minutes down to a carpark where you can catch a small train to Bellagio town centre. I would recommend this property to anyone. We found it wonderful. "
