New River Facing property provided relaxing atmosphere for a very stressful weekend of our daughter's wedding. Sound of the water and birds allowed us to rest & heal between events.

Beautiful View
This home is located in a beautiful area close to shops and restaurants.
The home is located at the bottom of a hill which causes leaks in the bottom floor. We had to call for extra towels but the listing office sent them quickly.
It was not a bad place to stay but it could be cleaner.
It's on a long dirt road so wasn't great for motorcycles. One bed had three hairs on the sheets and one bathroom had hair in tub and one sink had dry toothpaste in sink. Ceiling fans covered in spider webs and house had 7-10 stink bugs flying around. Other than those small issues the house was clean and roomy for all 12 of us. Honestly, we were very satisfied and had a great time. The fire pit by the river was fun to sit around. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. No kids screaming thank God. I would agree that anyone of us would definitely stay again. Easy access 8 miles away to town for just about anything you'd need or want. Thanks!!!!
I would recommend this house to all ages. We had 15 people staying. It accommodated all of our needs. Our favorite part was the river in front of the house.
This past week was nothing shy of amazing! We were thrilled to be able to spend some time with immediate and other family members throughout the week in this wonderful cabin. The location is absolutely perfect and the house was just what we all needed for a perfect getaway from home and for us to all be together. Thank you so much for allowing us to rent out this amazing space.
Great experience. Close to tubing. Closet to Virginia creeper trail. Great location with river right out front. We caught trout! Wonderful time and hope to come back. Rooms and spaces inside were perfect for our group

Enjoyed
Property is very nice, hearing river running was great, lots of room, grill worked great after I got use to it. Fire pit isn't really that, location listed is West Jefferson, it isn't, some dishes were not clean, food left on them. Overall we had a great trip and the house was perfect for what we needed.
Very relaxing much needed vacation. This house is very well stocked. Location to river is excellent. Traffic was more than we expected but there was construction going on in the area. Wildlife was great. We saw deer, geese, bald eagles, and fish. The sitting deck had to be rid of webs quite often but that comes with the territory. Sheets on some beds did not fit correctly giving impression of not being changed but were clean. Not a "perfect" location for physically challenged walking but can be managed if care taken. Would love to come back!
Great house for getting away from it all! The New River out front provides a peaceful view, joyous listening to the water flowing, and clear, cool water to wade through. The house is bigger than it looks online, lots of rooms to explore, and very comfortable with good amenities. The porch out front was our relaxing place. We saw a black bear at dusk on the road coming in! We saw a blue heron in the river. We saw a bald eagle fly over the river each morning. Neighbors were friendly too. Thank you for a wonderful experience for all 8 of us.
Great stay: we were in the area for running events at Grayson Highlands State Park (40 mins away)
Well stocked and easy to use kitchen, nice porches for lounging.
The house was large enough for our big family , but it has not been kept up and not as clean as I would have liked. To the right of the main entrance was quite a bit of trash strewn around and a broken bird bath . The floors seemed to have not been swept and lots of dust everywhere. There were mouse droppings in the downstairs closet. The furniture was older and marked up. Only one pot holder in the entire house, very few spoons and no small bowls for children. We have rented a few over the years and this was the most disappointing.
First impressions were not to good. Upon arrival the house had alive and dead lady bugs all over, the fire place was full of ash even though the guestbook said it would be clean. The most disturbing was the comforter in one of the rooms did not seem to be cleaned. So after a long drive we had to “clean.” I did contact the after hours line who offered to send someone over to clean, which we declined as we just settled in 3 families and had already started cleaning.
After the initial clean up we did enjoy our stay. The house is large and has plenty of room. Plenty of pots and pans to cook with. Make sure you bring dish soap, laundry soap and toilet paper. No kurig only regular coffee pot. We had to make quite a few trips to the store which was not to far away.
We enjoyed the river, fire pit is at the river, the river is closer than what the photos in the listing make it appear. We were surprised with beautiful snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.
Suggestions for the owners would be to upgrade the beds and furniture. It’s extremely outdated. I don’t expect new but did expect more current and more comfortable for the price.

Great get away.
We really enjoyed this getaway. We had a few issues, the floors on the first level were very slippery and a few of my family members fell. Also the top step to get to the lower level needs skid guards for the same reason. On the positive. This is a large property and great for a family get together. We paid the pet deposit to bring our dogs along. Great kitchen and beautiful view of the river. The porches were awesome. Very peaceful. The bridge was out due to all the rain but the alternate entrance was easy to use. The property was clean and the linen service made it easy. Would stay again.

Great for large groups that want to escape to the mountains!
My first requirement for booking this place was the ability to fit all 12 guests. Not only were we able to do that, but had room to spare. The living room and kitchen were connected, all with a beautiful outlook to the mountains and flowing river. And if you wanted to escape for a little quiet time, you could do so in your room or in the extra living room downstairs or one of the two porches. The house is in need of some design updates, but it was clean, properly functioning and large enough to fit our group which was perfect! Hope to make it back out in the summer so we can float in the river.

Perfect
A bunch of lifelong friends get together and we take a fly fishing trip every year. For the past ten years it has always been in WV. However, we have four guys coming from Charlotte, NC, so we decided to try our luck in North Carolina this year.
We found the property to be a perfect fit for our needs of space and comfort. The location was also very nice and close to the streams we were fishing. In short, it worked out perfect.
