"David's place exceeded my expectations! Very smart design and layout. Quality craftmanship and attention to detail. Super clean. I wish my daughter and i could have stayed longer! Close enough to Middlebury College for this to be a great option for 2 people. David was very nice to stop by to introduce himself and see if we needed anything. We didn't see him again, but knew he was only a phone call away. Perfect."

Although we visited the town's public beach one day, we did appreciate having a private area on the beach. The host was great with communication. "We were very excited to arrive at this beautiful location, however, the listing doesn't accurately describe this rental. Be aware that the windows don't close properly (or at all), there is a lot of noise during the night, properly critters. This unit is above someone and the neighbors are quite close. Very nice ferry driver! If you are into a glamping experience, it is worth it, but the price should reflect this."

"We really enjoyed our stay and the views were awesome. We’ve been vacationing in the Adirondack Mountains for many years but didn’t know that Birchwood Cottages was a place that you could stay. We’ve always stayed at the Maple Leaf up in Schroon Lake. We now plan to make Loon Lake a yearly thing."

"Arrived around 5 on Saturday. Great location. Once I figured out how to open key holder, we moved in. We enjoyed our cabin, found the information folders helpful. We had a nice fire and enjoyed our stay. Our suggestions for improvement. The light in the main room was very bright. A dimmer light switch would have been appreciated. Would like to have had a reading light on both sides of the bed."

"If you are good with an authentic rustic environment- complete with small rodent catch and release trap under the stairs, a little water coming in the bedroom ceiling when it rains, bugs galore, and supplying your own drinking water— then OK. Everyone else consider yourselves forewarned. There has been absolutely no maintenance done on this property in decades. The local staff are wonderful."
