We had the best time here! It perfectly slept 4 couples, my niece and our dogs. We had a great time hanging out in the beautiful yard, swimming in the lake and catching fish off the dock. It was also awesome how close it was to so many great spots in crosslake. Larry was easy to communicate with as well. Definitely recommend!
Wonderful property for generational gatherings. This is our second time for a long Memorial weekend and it felt like coming home this year. Fishing, boating or just enjoying the view, it is perfect.
The property, farmhouse and lake/pontoon were as described. Our granddaughters loved fish and release off the dock. The pontoon was alot of fun, everyone enjoyed it!. The farmhouse was immaculate, very clean and as described. Fun and interesting accommodations. Loved the eclectic art and decor. We will be back for a longer stay!!!
We enjoyed the house and the lake very much. It was quiet and peaceful. The house had lots of space inside and outside for the family. The only issue I had was with dog allergies in the house.

Great location. Great house!
Very nice, well kept, clean and spacious house with all of the amenities you'd want for your stay. Great Beautiful lake that is great for fishing. Pontoon was definitely a bonus which we enjoyed so much.
Would definitely stay here again and recommend to my friends.
Thanks Larry, it was nice meeting you.
We had a wonderful weekend with extended family. The property was beautiful and just as described in the listing. Having the pontoon and paddle boats made it even better. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your wonderfully eclectic home!
The house was very clean and nicely decorated. We loved the patio where we hung out a lot. The playground was neglected and broken swings. It was great to have the pontoon until the motor stopped our last day. Larry was there and tried to fix it. It was fun running about the lake with the paddle boat. Overall we had a good time. Thanks Larry for sharing your home with us.
We had a great time! The house was very clean and was exactly as listed. Great location … the lake was beautiful. Larry was very responsive to our calls - and Heidi (the dog) was a joy to be around! Having the pontoon boat and paddle boat at the property was awesome! Would definitely return.
We had such a great stay at Larry‘s house. It is like a museum like another person said about their stay. There is so much room for everyone. Lots of entertainment for all. Larry is also an amazing artist. Please check out his art on the walls. We would surely come back again.
The fam and 2 pups had a great time hanging out at Larry’s place! The pontoon was awesome and we had a great time playing in the water with our dogs. It was the first time they experienced the great outdoors and they loved it! Had fun by the fire eating s’mores and sharing stories and laughs, and the foosball table was a hit too. Thanks for the memories!
An awesome place for our annual family summer vacation. We were a group of 8, 4 adults, 4 kids (ages 10-6) + 2 dogs. Beautiful well-equipped home with lots to look at and gorgeous lake. Kids had a blast fishing, swimming, playing games, eating s’mores around the fire pit. House was very clean with plenty of a/c and fans. Nearby Cross Lake has a big grocery store with enough of the vegetarian and gluten free options we needed. We hope we can come again!
Amazing time! Kids developed an itch for fishing after countless pan fish were caught.
The accommodations were as expected and we were all very happy.
3 dogs ran themselves tired dodging in and out of the woods and water.
10/10 would like to experience it in January!
The property was just as described. Use of the pontoon was a highlight of the trip. Tons of fish to catch off the dock and even more off the pontoon. Great swimming on the middle of the lake. Lots of breakable Nick-Nacks but was easily able to put them up higher where the toddlers couldn’t reach. Larry was extremely responsive to any issues or concerns. Only downside is that a realtor and huge family stopped by and wanted to tour the house during our stay - we declined because it felt like an invasion of privacy since our stuff was scattered everywhere. The garage door was opened and if we didn’t have the dogs in the house they might have done it anyways since they said they saw us on the pontoon but we were on our way back.
Only recommendation would be to have an updated TV in the basement for movies on rainy days - the TV/VCR wouldn’t work properly. Also, the outdoor grill is older and the heat source isn’t very strong if you plan on grilling anything outside.
Loved the stay otherwise!
Everyone in my large extended family had good things to say about our week-long stay here.
PROS: Free pontoon plus free gas! (It's a little shabby; we didn't care. Lots of adults and kids could fish at the same time.) Paddleboat with ladder – kids took it out to swim (with life jackets); never worried about them taking it out alone because the lake is very small and generally calm. The kids caught sunfish off the dock as soon as they dropped in a line (a few bullheads too). Private lake is very quiet, location is very private, nicely landscaped. Water at end of dock is shallow enough to stand – we didn't worry much about the kids being down there; nice dock with 2 benches. Good view of lake/beach/dock from the house. Roomy house with many different spaces, so you aren't on top of each other and always have a spot to get away if you want. Lovely patio with grill; 2nd patio and fire pit off the lower level. Two large eating areas inside, fully stocked kitchen. Plenty of beach towels; life jackets available, although we used our own. Lots of parking for multiple cars, trailers, etc. Comfortable beds and seating; window AC in every bedroom and one in living room. Crosslake is only 2.5 miles away, an easy run for groceries. Nice owner, easy to reach, responds promptly. Caught fish every time we went out (9-year-old grandson caught a 28" large-mouth bass.)
CONS: No public access for our 2 jet skis; had to take them to another lake to use them, which we did on 2 days. Never caught a crappie; we caught sunnies, bass and bullheads but didn't see any other types of fish. This is a very small lake with no access to larger lakes. Swimming area is rather weedy. Downstairs is dark and has a musty basement smell; it bothered my daughter's allergies and some folks wouldn't stay down there because of that (and the taxidermy!) Living room is quite dark, though comfortable.
Finally, if you like kitsch, this is the place for you. I don't know if it's intentional but there's LOTS of it.
Wonderful lake view, having the pontoon was great to get out on the water and enjoy nature; my chocolate lab mix had a blast roaming around chasing her tennis balls. The landscaping on the property is beautiful, we were kept in supply of firewood for bonfires every night! The Farmhouse itself is very eclectic, quirky, and beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Larry was a very very welcoming host. We will definitely be back.
The home was just as the pictures showed!
The kitchen was easy to cook in, dishwasher great, fridge is large top fridge over freezer. No ice; we bought ice cube trays at DG in town.
The eat in area was roomy, we folded the beautiful table clothes up and set them aside~
We appreciated fans in each bedroom!
The landscape on the lakeside was perfect for the grandkids to play on their own, peddle boat, and swim! We brought a kayak, also rented some in town, and had our own SUP…the pontoon is like an old crest we had owned in Michigan so we knew how to get her to start and did take a ride in! There were plenty of beach towels in the utility room cabinets for us too. The fishing off the end of the dock was amazing!!! BIG sunfish, bass and even baby walleye!
Having a clothesline to hang wet suits, towels and life jackets on was so helpful too.
We appreciated the wood for an outdoor fire, and making s’mores! The porch area and seating outside was delightful too.
Our only wish would have been for a TV that worked. We had a few rainy periods that the game playing was exhausted and we’d hoped to watch a movie together…We were able to piece together cables to get the basement
DVR to work, but it was in B/W.
Our only other problem we solved was covering a few windows for sleeping~We did use towels and foil!
Thanks for sharing your property with our family! We were refreshed from city life!
