"Check-in was perfunctory and lacking in warmth. My husband and I were also very disappointed to be told that the pool and spa closed at 7pm. After a long drive, we arrived at 6:45pm intending to relax in the spa before retiring. We understand that the spa was open until 8pm (on the pool board, it did say it closed at 8pm). 7pm is early for a spa to close and it doesn't open for an early morning swim either; we felt cheated. The hotel is on a cliff, so has lots of steps, which we had overlooked. At late notice a room without steps was kindly made available. The ensuite studio room was pleasant, comfortable and well equipped but sounds from the surrounding rooms could be heard. The room and equipment were mostly clean. A wooden spoon and PVC apron would be good additions. Ideally, we would prefer an 11am checkout, as 10am is a bit of a rush, especially with self-catering. Visually the spa lacked lustre but it was true to the photographs; a few plants would improve the general ambience and relaxation. The pool and jacuzzi were good, the sauna was rather small and steam room wasn't really steamy. The pool, sauna and steam room were clean but the poolside was a little dirty with leaves and debris in the seating area. We didn't use the restaurant, gym or games room but the communal herb pots and beach toys were a lovely touch. We enjoyed a few chives. Overall, if the price was right, I would be happy to return with the family, this time knowing the country clubs shortfalls."

"Generally very good, however there was a few disappointing things such as the bed wasn't particularly comfortable, the room was a bit small and tired, the black pudding at breakfast wasn't cooked properly (it was like rubber), also olive oil and balsamic should not be pre-mixed let people adjust the ratio to their taste. The staff were very good and the location is very good."

"Fantastic characterful house, ideally located for both beach and town.Really well equipped kitchen..2 toasters, 2 kettles, loads of crockery, glasses and cutlery.Street parking is not guaranteed but we managed to find spaces for 4 cars within a few metres and there is always a pay and display car park a few minutes away.A really good supply of books and games for all ages. The upstairs lounge became the kids playroom and the downstairs one was very comfortable for our 8 adults.Supermarket just 5 mins walk.Lovely beaches, some dog friendly.Large BBQ with all utensils provided.Safe, enclosed decked garden with plenty of tables and seating for all.We felt that the fridge was a little underpowered for the size of the house and didn't seem to be chilling stuff adequately but the owner dealt with this very quickly when we mentioned it, by buying an additional fridge, which definitely fulfilled our requirements!Just so many thoughtful touches...buckets and spades, crabbing lines, picnic rug, blankets, cool box."

"Lovely and comfortable, beds really comfortable, nicely decorated, good view from window. Welcome pack included tea , milk and biscuits, and a bottle of red wine, which we did not drink as we prefer white. Will come again next year. Wall behind the toilet needs looking at, it would be good to have instructions for oven and what to put in the bins. We love Cromer and have been coming here for many years."
