Great location, terrible check in
Good points: brilliant location. This was our proper stay in Norfolk and we loved it, will definitely visit the area again. Playing field was great. Not-so-good points: the whole booking, paying and checking in experience was dreadful. I made several attempts to ask about extending the checking out time before booking and had no response. My payment didn’t go through and I had to wait on hold for ages to pay via Cottages.com. I got a booking confirmation but no check in details. On arrival the reception staff rolled their eyes as soon as I mentioned Vrbo. Understandably, they couldn’t help me with the check in, so my husband and I spent an hour and a half trying to get help over the phone and via chat. After a three hour drive, and with an increasingly feral four year old, this was obviously not ideal. Our actual stay was fine. Well equipped chalet, comfy beds, decent shower. The bedroom curtains let a lot of light in and we couldn’t use the extra blankets / throws as they smelt doggy. On our last morning we didn’t quite make it out in time for the 9am check out and the cleaner was very impatient. Fair enough, but I had tried to make it an hour later and we did wait ages to get in! TL,DR: stay here, but don’t book via Vrbo. And be prepared to get up and get out early.
