The Space:
A dog-friendly studio on the 2nd floor of the Grand Lodge's East building — an open, easy-care layout built for travelers who bring their pets and spend the day outside.
➔ Sleeping: A king bed plus a king Murphy bed that folds down at night, so four sleep comfortably in one open room.

➔ Bathroom: One full bathroom.
➔ Pets: Dogs are genuinely welcome (2 pets max, $50 fee) — easy in and out for walks, with trails and town a short stroll away.

3 Pros:
✔ One of the few truly dog-friendly studios this close to the lifts — a convenience store across the street
✔ Indoor and outdoor heated pool plus a hot tub for after a day out
✔ The most affordable building at the base of Mt. Crested Butte
2 Cons:
✗ Built in 1999, a 3-star building with dated common areas
✗ No A/C (rarely needed at 9,375 ft), no oven, and no in-unit washer/dryer
Guest Access:
You have the entire studio to yourself, plus full access to the Grand Lodge's shared amenities: the indoor/outdoor heated pool, hot tub, fitness center, and fireplace lobby. Check in yourself anytime with the keypad code — there's no front desk at the Grand Lodge, but we respond quickly by message. Your unit comes with free parking, and the 2nd-floor location makes for easy in-and-out with your dog. Shared amenities are operated by the building's HOA and can occasionally close for maintenance.
The Neighborhood:
The Grand Lodge sits at the base of Mt. Crested Butte, a short walk from the Crested Butte Mountain Resort lifts, with a coffee shop, restaurants, and a convenience store directly across the street. The surrounding base village has shops, dining, and rental outfitters at the doorstep, plus open ground nearby for dog walks. Historic downtown Crested Butte and its Elk Avenue — galleries, restaurants, and preserved Old West architecture — are about a seven-minute drive, with a free town shuttle running between the mountain and town. The area is a year-round outdoor base: skiing and snowshoeing in winter; hiking, mountain biking, rafting, horseback riding, and wildflower season in summer. The Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is about a 45-minute drive.
Getting Around:
You don't need a car here — the lifts, coffee, restaurants, and a convenience store are all within a short walk. A free town shuttle runs between the mountain base and historic downtown Crested Butte (about 7 minutes). If you do drive, your unit comes with free parking. The Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is about a 45-minute drive; Denver is roughly 4 hours.

Great communication with host, easy check in, convenient location with the amenities we needed for a relaxing vacation. My husband, little dog Kasey, and I had an enjoyable vacation hiking and exploring the Crested Butte area. Thank you. We'll be back!
This rental property positioned us perfectly for exploring nearby hiking, paddleboarding and other summer outdoor sports. It is conveniently located to downtown and provided us all of the basic kitchen elements we needed. Our dog was quite comfortable here as well (and she enjoyed the attention from other visitors as we rode up and down the elevator)!
Property had everything we needed. This isn't a place where you make full on family dinners. But the location to the ski lift base area was perfect, and it was great to be able to have our dog with us. The entire floor was filled with families with pets and small children, so it got noisy at times, but everyone's abided by the quiet hours. The only thing that detracted from the experience was a guest or two who smoked weed in the building and the smell was strong in pur room. The building manager/security was very responsive and took care of it. butThe hall

Renter Beware
This is an ok property, but I was shocked by the amount of fees and taxes charged on this property. I rent through VRBO often, and I was shocked. It more than doubled the nightly rental fee that was listed! Also, this property is listed as having two king beds. One of these is a Murphy bed, and not as comfortable as a regular bed. some other minor issues. They only gave us one washcloth. When we asked if we could get more, they said the cleaning crew was unavailable to help us. The TV remotes didn't work properly either. The pool and location was nice. Common spaces in the lodge aren't great. Many stains in the hallways. Overall OK, but won't probably rent again, mostly because of the crazy fees!
Place is so clean nice and cozy,, everything works properly,, very comfortable bed,, highly recommend,, even was so quiet,, nice Mountain View,, no problem with parking ,, pets friendly,, definitely come back there , thank you so much
This was a nice place- somewhat like a hotel room, but with much more room and at a better price. Clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the outside hot tub on a cold night in the mountains. Would recommend to family members and friends.
This had everything we needed for our weekend away with a quick drive to town or walking distance to some restaurants, shops and ski lift area. It’s conveniently located and large free parking lot. Host was excellent at communicating exactly where to go and what to do. Room was clean and well stocked. The pool is heated and was not too crowded. Would definitely stay here again! :)
Steps away from the mountain for first chair, close to the shuttle to go to town and get back easy. You can hear other rooms, kids, dogs barking etc,,but if you ski hard enough you fall asleep so fast you barely notice. Great spot!
You really cannot beat this location. 5 minute walk to the lift, 3 minute walk to the shuttle to take you to town. As described, the accommodations are simple, but work great if you’re here to ski. 1 “burner” electric stove, microwave, and fridge made breakfast and a few dinners at home very reasonable. The communal indoor fireplace in the lobby was great for reading and card games. Shuttle the runs every 15mins was easy for a 10min ride into town and back. A fine place and would stay again if we come back to CB.

Just a hotel Room
Enough space for two but the TV change doesn’t work. The shower curtain is too small for the tub which has mold in it. A bathroom lightbulb wouldn’t stay on and one of the lamps by the bed was broke.

Might be okay for college kids skiing. Not a good place when you come in the Summer. Closet is full of supplies. No room. We were there a wedding. Closet was completely full and bulging out. No grab bar in shower and no mat in bathtub floor. Slippery as can be. Dangerous for any age. Broken table lamps. Whole place needs work.
Kitchenette is well stocked with 4 place settings, pots and pans, plenty of spices, coffee, creamer. Comfortable bed. Has heat but no AC which isn't needed at 9000+ ft. We had two pets with us. There was always a good supply of poop bags available and good areas to take them next to the building. Lots of places to browse and buy in town of Crested Butte. On the down side, as someone in my 70's I found the thin air a bit taxing as I'm not use to that altitude. What could have made my stay better: a box of tissues (though plenty of toilet tissue. and paper towels), a working TV remote (management offered to come check out the problem but we said don't bother), more space in closet and drawers for clothes (were filled with supplies and bedding). The pluses much out way the minuses by far. Crested Butte is a beautiful area.
