"This is "A Secluded Country Cabin." There's no cell service outside the cabin. We had to drive to the Dollar General in Annapolis to get cell service so I could get the key code on the house. There is no cable/satellite service. That's ok, we're used to it. The power went out the first morning there, it was still out when we left. The owner was quick to bring water to flush toilets, though. It was on when we got back that evening. Good thing Annapolis is a short distance away. We loved the feel of the place. It is a 100 year old farmhouse on septic/well, which is fine. I & my Wife grew up in the country, so did our kids w/ us. Five Stars all day long."

"Me and five of my old college friends get together a couple of times a year for a cabin weekend full of good food, hiking, campfires, and great views. This underground cabin is the most unique property we've stayed at. If you want to sleep in, you can't get any better than inside the cabin! You can also camp over the top of the cabin as well. The primary view of the valley is fantastic and communication with the owner was easy and really helpful. If you're looking for a truly unique experience in the Ozarks - this is THE place to be! We will most certainly be coming back! "

Rustic River Cabin Getaway

"This was our second time on the property. The first time was two years ago when my granddaughter turned 18. My daughter rented the cabin that time. I rented the property to celebrate her 20th birthday. The property is pretty remote and that is what makes it so charming and appealing to my family. It is very close to the Black River where my family has roots on one of the upper forks (West Fork) of the river. The cabin is well supplied with whatever you may need for a short stay. You just need to bring you food, drink and amenities. The surroundings are peaceful as is the large wrap-around porch. We will definitely be back at some time in the future."

"Absolutely enjoyed everything about our stay here!!! The host was so accessible and accommodating with all of our questions and needs. The cabin was very clean and extremely comfortable. The state park just a mile up the street is a real nice spot to explore and has hibachi grills and picnic tables. So fun to look out the windows from the cabin and see the alpacas. If you are looking for a place that is quiet with absolutely beautiful surroundings. This is the place for you."

"The house is very cute. Check-in was very easy. All downhill from there. The house was infested with lady bugs. There were thousands of live and dead bugs everywhere. On the couch, on the beds, dishes in the cabinets, literally everywhere. Messaged host and she said its mother nature and to leave if we want. This is in middle of woods, not a lot of options to up and leave. We spent first hour cleaning bugs. I messaged that this was not just a few bugs, that this was an infestation and that there was no reason to have dead bugs everywhere- that it should have been cleaned prior to us coming. Host messaged we could use vacuum to clean. Next morning, I messaged several times again about issue and that also the bathroom door literally fell off. Host never replied. We went to leave for our activities and realized we left a water bottle, tried to go back inside and we were locked out! Messaged host- no response. Spent an hour on the phone with VRBO, they tried to contact her multiple times. We sent them videos and pictures of bugs and trying to get in house. We could not get a response from host. Luckily we left a window open (to air out the house, because this is not a non-smoking house!) and my daughter climbed through a window so we could get our stuff. We left the property. Host messaged a bit later that she was at house. and agreed to refund money for our stay, but also added that house was clean when we checked in, despite pics I sent with dead bugs everywhere! "
