"Well, the property is very handsome, and the setting is beautiful, and quite convenient to Butchart Gardens, which are 2 km away, and to the airport, which is a 10-minute drive. Rooms are spacious, quiet, and clean. Some issues, however. First of all, although the hotel was definitely less than half full, we were put on the 1st of 3 floors. These rooms have very little privacy, as anyone can walk up to the front or back of these rooms. Strangely, one needs a key to get from the rooms to the lobby, but not to get from the lobby (or street) to the rooms. I've never seen such backwards security. Secondly, when we arrived at 5 PM, there were no people at the front desk--just a sign saying "back in 10 mins." Not quite the service one would expect at a 4* property. Main restaurant wasn't open the 2 nights we stayed (Monday, Tuesday). Finally, at breakfast (8:30 AM) on our first day, our waiter spent all of his time re-arranging the furniture rather than tending to guests. Couldn't the furniture re-arranging wait until after 10 AM, when breakfast was over? Mind you, I enjoyed our stay despite these issues, but there is room for improvement."

"It was wonderful. The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the golf course and mountains. The two girls at the front reception could not have been friendlier. They were so pleasant and welcoming. Jacks restaurant across the road had good food and was playing the Oilers game!! Go Oilers!! Really a beautiful spot. "
