"It took us some time to find the property but staying at the Domaine was worthwhile the search. Upon our arrival at the reception, we were confused about which room we were supposed to get. It ended up that we received an upgrade in the form of a suite. We stayed one night but hope to return next year again for a few nights more. Cycling in the area would be our goal, and also to try out the many great restaurants in this countryside village. We can recommend this secret hide-out to rest seekers...

"I thought we were on for some Indian cuisine on news year's eve, but when we arrived the restaurant was closed, they did offer us a meal down the road where they had large event on for 160 euros, which we declined. It then become odd...we wanted to go out to eat, they asked when we would return...we said we did not know could we have a key, no key are allowed they said...be back by eight as we have an important event tonight! I was then told to leave by a certain door by the man in charge....

"Maison Sainte Barbe is a little haven of peace and loveliness, in an ancient building that has been sympathetically cared for. It was our final stop on a 2500 mile roadtrip before heading to Ouisteham, and I'd have been glad to stay longer. We had problems with the pool, the water turned green and the cover jammed. These problems were dealt with very quickly by the manager."
