"Stayed here for our honeymoon and it was wonderful! The grounds were beautiful, we saw plenty of wildlife including toucans, lizards, and even a family of howler monkeys! "I really wanted to give this property 5 stars but I had to take one off simply because the rooms, at least our room, was very outdated and the bed extremely uncomfortable. I will say that the views from this property are breathtaking and we were in love! It is a short walk to the Monteverde Cloud Forest. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous. The food at the restaurant was also quite good! My only disappointment was the room condition and bed. Otherwise, wonderful property! "

"Very nice garden for our toddler to walk around and play with toys they provided. Staff very friendly and always ready to help , btw they gave us a free upgrade. The rooms were clean and comfortable , could use a better soundproof for the walls jus as a suggestion. The trails were amazing, but some signs need to be fixed. Overall the experience was truly amazing , we enjoyed our stay , will definitely be back and recommend it."

"This place is an oasis in the rain forest! Beautiful grounds and the staff and owner were the best! Water taxis and walking is how you get around. Ton's of wildlife and a great experience! I would call it "rustic elegance". Just one item that may bother others is there is no climate control in the rooms. That did not bother us since they all have ceiling fans, but it may be a consideration of some."

Nice cabin, not in La Fortuna itself...
"The cabin was in a pretty location on the side of a small lake — but the location doesn't match that on VRBO which states it's in La Fortuna town. It's actually several miles out of town, which was a problem for us since we didn't have a rental car and there's no public transport serving the area. The owner offered us a lift into La Fortuna on our first day, but beyond that we had to keep booking Ubers which also were quite unreliable. The cabin was nice but could do with a bit of upkeep — there were a lot of ants/termites that appeared in our kitchen and a bad smell came up through the drain in the bathroom. It's also worth noting that despite the tranquil pictures the property is next to a busy road and you can hear the traffic throughout the night."
