Beautiful 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath located in Carova on the 4x4 beach. **This home is only accessible via 4x4 or AWD vehicles with at least 7.5 inches of ground clearance. Make sure you air down to 20psi** Three decks with beautiful sunrise and sunset views! Pool/Spa in the backyard. Recently redecorated, new bedding, well equipped kitchen items (new), chairs, decor and more! Plenty of parking.

Beautiful and peaceful

This was our second trip to the 4x4 area and it did not disappoint. The house was perfect and the walk to the beach was short and quiet. The crows nest had amazing views and we saw the horses every day with a special visit under the deck with the yearling. I was sad to leave.

Great Location

The house was in a fantastic location to either walk to or drive to the beach. We had horses visit us every day and the sunrises were amazing.

A+ Week at the Beach

Beautiful, comfortably home to spend a week in. We enjoyed nice views from the various decks, exciting horse visits, easy walks to the beach, dips on the pool & hot tub and a well stocked kitchen. The host was responsive and helpful.

Beautiful getaway

We fully enjoyed our stay! Clean and fully loaded with the Horses visiting almost daily! Remember You are a distance away from grocery stores so come prepared and keep an eye on the tide schedule. Highly recommended, would stay here again if we’re in the area!

Two thumbs up!

We had a great week staying at Naps on the Beach. My family has been coming to the outer banks for decades but this was my parents first time staying on the 4x4. They loved the peace and seclusion and the house was in a 3 minute walking distance to the beach over the dunes. The house was the perfect size for 5 of us + 8 month old + dogs as well. Robin was extremely responsive in answering any questions we had prior to our stay as well as the week of. Would stay here again for sure!!

Gorgeous views

Robin was great with notifications about the weather and drivability of the beach due to the surrounding effects of Hurricane Ian. Once the bad weather passed, we enjoyed gorgeous views of sunrise and sunsets. The wild horses were an enjoyable part of the trip. The house was very comfortable and accommodating.. Loved the upstairs for a great hang out location for the family. Beautiful views from the upper deck and main floor location.

This was our first time to OBX and it was a wonderful week. The house was plenty big enough, the pool and hot tub were very nice and clean. The house was clean. For us, being on the 4x4 beach was fun but it was a pain to have to go into town. It’s like 15-20 minute drive on the beach and if you have never done that before, watch out if you are in a SUV. It’s very easy to cause damage to the undercarriage stuff (heat shield). The horses were amazing and came up to the house but be ready to clean up some horse poop. The beds were not the most comfortable so if you have back issues, that could be an issue for you. Also, be sure to bring everything. We had to run into town to get hand soap and a dish scrub. The horse tours are constant and if the horses are on the property, be sure to know that you are on stage for the tours. All around my family had a wonderful time. Thank you for our stay.

Great home at a great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean and as shown in the pictures. This isn’t the newest build in the area, but it’s maintained well with some newer updates in the master bath and comes well stocked with cooking accessories. The location is hard to beat - ocean views, quick 5 minute walk over the dune to the beach, and horses around nearly every day. We really appreciated the quick walk to the beach and not having to load up the Jeep each time. We stayed in late March but they still were able to open the pool and hot tub. That was greatly appreciated! Their response time was nearly instant during checkin or anytime there were questions. We experienced an issue with the water pump but the sent someone out that day and corrected it while we were enjoying the beach. The only thing we really had issues with was the internet connection / WiFi . It was a bit troublesome. It was T-mobile with 2 bars and worked well in nice weather and early in the day. Poor weather and evenings it became a bit of a hassle. Our carrier wasn’t much better, AT&T, but did what we needed it for. The internet thing isn’t a huge deal, but if you plan on working from the location and need dependable internet, we recommend planning on having a backup.

Wonderful stay!

We just returned from this property and had an amazing stay! If you are thinking of booking this property, do it! This was our first time staying on the 4x4 beach and we have no regrets. The house was spotless upon arrival and it had absolutely everything we needed. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and storage containers. Everything we looked for was there. Robin was wonderful and communicated with us great prior to and during the stay. This truly felt like a home away from home. We saw wild horses every single day, multiple times per day. Many times in the yard of the house. We drove our car to the beach, which most people do to claim their space. This wasn't even necessary as there is a walkway directly across from the house. It was so close that I would walk with the kids and my husband would drive the car. We would love to return to this property! A few tips for the 4x4 beach. Make sure you deflate your tires to about 18 psi. Also, our GPS took us down a dune road that was very hilly and had very soft sand. This isn't necessary to get to the house. The road off the beach is 16.5 mile or 17 mile marker. A local helped us recognize that and then told us to turn directly on the road the house was located on. We traveled back to Corolla several times during the week. It was about a 25- 30 minute drive, which we didn't have any problems with. It was nice to be in such a quiet and secluded location, but also able to easily access shopping, restaurants, and groceries. Thank you Robin for sharing your home with us. This was truly the most relaxing trip our family has ever taken!

Family Vacation

It was out first time to the outer banks and we loved it. The house was nice, the view was amazing. We saw horses every day. The pool was small but great with such hot summer sun, we went in it just about every day we were there as well as the ocean. The deck on the roof top was awesome for stargazing at night. Overall we had a great week and would recommend the house to anyone.

Horse magnet

Wow!! This house was everything and more!!! We loved the 4x4 beach!! Nice walk to the beach but it’s nice you can always drive if you have too much to carry!! We saw horses Every day, a few deer and a snake! Loved having an extra refrigerator!! The sunrises were Amazing!!!! We’ll definitely be back !

Best beach vacation yet!

This was my family's third time staying on the 4x4 beach and definitely our best! The location, house, amenities, and host were perfect. The host was very responsive and was able to get a mechanic out the next day to repair one of the AC units. We appreciated the sophisticated reverse-osmosis water system for clean drinking water. There are wildlife tours passing by throughout the day as the house is situated on an intersection where wild horses can be seen daily. We didn't mind the traffic as we never bore of seeing the wild horses. The house has plenty of privacy with fencing on the side of the carport and around the pool out back. Enjoyed the games, pool, and hot tub! Short walk to the beach but we drove most days to lug all our gear. Amazing views from the crow's nest! 1 week was not long enough!

Beautiful Beach house!!!

The house was beautiful and had plenty of space!! The quietness and serenity of the area in is amazing!! The pool and hot tub are a great added amenity weather was to chilly to use the pool as we wanted but thats mother nature for you can't do anything about that. Definitely recommend to any one wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life!!!

Great spot if you like beach driving

We loved this house. It was well maintained and had a wonderful location. We walked out to the beach but nearly everyone drove out to the beach so just be prepared for a lot of through traffic if you have kids or pets. We stayed at the pool in the afternoons and enjoyed waking up to wild horses outside nearly every day. I would definitely recommend!

Outstanding vacation!

My wife is VERY particular about cleanliness (OCD). No problems here! The house was laid out very well for our two families to spend time together, yet have our own space. Saw the horses every day. The drive-on beach is so much better than lugging all the gear through the sand like most other beaches. We did t have a lot of breeze and there are definitely bugs due to the location so make sure to bring some spray. All in all, a fantastic getaway. Highly recommend.

Great house, crazy weather

The house is beautiful. Absolutely amazing to be visited by the wild horses no more than 20 feet away. Weather during our stay flooded us in, but Robin was quick to reach out and to help. Make sure to drive a 4x4.

Naps on the Beach

Great location, family of eight were there for a week with our dogs. Stayed over the Fourth of July holiday week and were able to see fireworks from the top deck. Great sunsets and sunrises views. Also awesome location for daily horse visitors.

Very enjoyable

House was in good location and we were treated to seeing the wild horses everyday. The accommodations were good and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beach is excellent.

Ocean side family vacation

We had such a wonderful time on the outer banks! Seeing the wild horses, time on the beach and hanging out at the pool side. Getting to the beach from the house was a short walk- but if you had quite a bit of things to carry it is an easy drive and park on the beach- especially when you have kids to walk! We would park close to the walk path to the beach house in case of bathroom emergency’s. It worked great! The wild horses seam to flock to this house and the neighborhood houses, which was so very cool. The pool was also great, if you wanted to take a swim after the beach and put the little kiddos down for nap. We enjoyed ourselves immensely!
