Our host is rightly proud of the apartment (a family home) and it shows in the furnishings and supplies for the kitchen (we shopped in the market and cooked our meals as part of this trip, so that was an important feature). Laura provided an informative guide with comprehensive lists and suggestions, but also pointed out some hidden gems and some of her favourite places, and those were excellent suggestions. "Beautiful property with priceless views. The on-site restaurant also offered a nice light lunch. The pool area could have been spruced up a bit with some better furniture, but the room was beautiful. Be careful when using the shower as well as it is easy for the water to spray onto the floor. Make sure you understand where the property is located before booking as it is quite a ways outside of Florence city center. I rented a car and drove through the Tuscan hills to arrive."

"Beautiful property, lovely personnel and pretty grounds. The only negative I have is that the gate at the road to the actual residential building is unmarked, unlit and several kilometers from the main gate (which is marked and lit at night), making a late night check in (in the dark) very difficult. I am sure this is being addressed since that entrance appears very new."

"We visited four very different parts of Italy and our stay at Fattoria Lavacchio may have been our favorite. One important thing to know that was a little tricky to figure out was that you check-in at “Casabella”. The property belonging to Fattoria Lavacchio includes multiple buildings spread along 1km or so of the road. Our room ended up being an apartment about 300m from Casabella (the building in the pictures here with the pool). There was not traditional a/c but we didn’t need it with the fans and air coolers they provided. We also loved sleeping with the windows wide open and no need for screens because no bugs!! Even in the hottest part of the summer!! We love star gazing at night, cooking class overlooking the winery, horseback riding, and dinner on the patio by the pool. We also enjoyed the breakfast with fresh juices and jams made there at Fattoria Lavacchio. They also make their own olive oil. We felt very relaxed and refreshed after our visit there. Wish we could have stayed longer!"

"The Franciscan Order nuns are a delight. We enjoyed their beautiful singing at the evening worship service before dinner. The bathroom for our room was small and a wet room, so we had to wipe everything dry, after taking a shower. The beds were comfortable and the overall setting was very peaceful."
