Sarakinatika House is a beautiful villa in the peaceful area of Porta, Sinies, ideal for a family getaway, or, for couples, visiting the island of Corfu during the summer season. It is a very unique 3 bedroom house, with magnificent views, comfortable both inside and out.
The villa is on a small village road which leads into Porta and on to a couple of hamlets in the hills. It is active in the daytime but falls silent at night. The closest village with amenities to it is Sinies, an approximate 10 minute drive away. Sarakinatika looks out onto a magnificent distant sea view and the mountains of Albania, a view that definitely won’t disappoint.
On the ground floor, the kitchen, seamlessly connected to the covered parking by the front door, extends gracefully into the dining area and sitting room, creating an inviting and sociable atmosphere. Whether you prefer to cook alone or with company, this layout accommodates both.
Open plan stairs gracefully ascend to the first floor, ensuring that every corner of the villa remains interconnected. The ground floor is designed to facilitate easy movement while retaining a cozy ambiance. Positioned above the street level, the three windows offer views over our neighbors' hedge to the serene expanse of the sea.
Each bedroom boasts an awe-inspiring panoramic view stretching the length of Corfu island, with Paxos nestled behind its southern tip on clear days, and a breathtaking vista of the sea channel between Corfu and Albania leading to mainland Greece and the Albanian mountains.
Every room is thoughtfully equipped with modern amenities, including ambient lighting, convenient charge points, protective mosquito window nets, cooling fans, and ample storage space for clothing.
The beds are furnished with standard British-sized mattresses, locally crafted to ensure quality rest, and adorned with luxurious fine cotton bedding. During the summer months, beds are dressed with two pillows per person, crisp fitted sheets, and breathable cotton duvet covers. For added comfort on cooler nights, lightweight duvets are slipped into the covers.
Guests should note that the double bedroom and the twin bedroom (which can also be converted into a double) have both air conditioning and fans, whereas, the single room only has a fan.
Carved into the natural slope of the hill, the garden unfolds across three tiers of carefully crafted paving and lush greenery, embraced by sturdy stone walls for support. Thoughtfully redesigned and meticulously planted, the garden ensures privacy, blooming with vibrant flowers while resilient enough to endure the extremes of hot summers and freezing winters. The flower beds and numerous oversized terracotta pots offer a delightful array of colors and textures, captivating the senses.
On the opposite side of the residence, the landscape transitions into terraced groves adorned with fruit and nut trees—pomegranate, apricot, almond, and fig—interspersed with a profusion of wildflowers that burst into bloom with the arrival of spring.
During warmer days, the outdoor spaces become an extension of daily living. Whether seeking solitude or conviviality, guests can choose from an array of settings, from secluded hammocks to sun-drenched loungers, from sturdy chairs to plush sofas, and from cozy nooks to expansive dining areas. Equipped with reliable Wi-Fi and a well-appointed outdoor kitchen, cooking and dining alfresco are effortless pleasures. And all the while, the breathtaking vistas provide a backdrop of serenity and seclusion, ensuring a tranquil retreat amidst nature's embrace.
Sarakinatika is such a special house, guests are asked to take care of it as if it were their own.
This villa with a view is an ideal choice for those looking for relaxation and a sense of freedom while in Corfu.
