"We had a truly wonderful and peaceful stay at this cabin. The location is incredibly pristine — deep in the woods, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing retreat. The cabin itself was very comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and a clean, inviting hot tub/jacuzzi. We even saw deer nearby, which added to the charm.The nearby lake is beautiful, with crystal-clear water. We loved that it was private and had free access to canoes and kayaks. There’s also a connected lake that felt even more secluded and serene — absolutely stunning.We also took a short 15-minute drive to a nearby beach, which was another highlight of the trip. It was quiet, peaceful, and not crowded at all — the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings.The cabin owner was extremely helpful and kind. During a short power outage (4–5hr), they provided lights and even gave us a discount for a pontoon ride as a thoughtful gesture. We took the opportunity to enjoy the silence and do some meditation, which made our experience even more special.One of the most remarkable moments was after our stay — we realized we had accidentally left behind a gold chain valued at over 2,000. We contacted the owner, and to our relief and gratitude, she found it and generously shipped it back to us without hesitation. That level of honesty and care is rare and deeply appreciated.This cabin is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet, nature-filled getaway with a trustworthy and kind host. Highly recommended!"

"Wonderful upgrades and motel remodel. Broken drawer was a problem, couldn't get clothes out of drawer. Handicap shower was roomy, but alot of water ended u p outside of shower. Management was very responsive. This was our 4th stay at the property. Will definitely be back."

"We had the most amazing trip. The fishing was great. Went swimming. Made campfires went to the Antler Store for ice cream. The lake is beautiful. The cabin is beautiful with plenty of room for our family of four and dog. Plenty of area for the dog to run around and play and swim. We can’t say enough good things about Rachel she was so helpful and quick to respond to the many questions we had. The Refuge at North Padre is an awesome place and we can’t wait to come back next summer. Just a wonderful place. "

"This location was wonderful, beautiful views and very convenient to have landing and docking in private, quiet bay behind residence. Bugs were immense outside and needed to be fogged. Holly was available when needed and communicated well. Bedrooms had small beds, but comfortable and clean. Beach was great for kids and swimming. Hot tub on site was not working. Cabin is next door to property owner residence, cameras on property as well. Overall a good experience and would stay again! "

"We loved our stay here in Tower, MN! My grandpa actually built this house :) and so it was so cool to see all the work done on it. It has the coziest norther MN vibe with such a huge hard and easy, walkable access to downtown Tower, MN. Love the decor!The property was super clean and cute! Easy kitchen to make a bunch of meals in and enjoy together and nice set up for the living room to watch a movie in when it stormed. The basement was perfect for the family that came with kids with space for them to hang out early in the morning before everyone else got up. They also had little cute touches like temporary tattoos for the 4th! Easy parking for all our vehicles. The house is directly across the road from the Mesabi Trail to walk or bike ride on, too, which we enjoyed.Downtown Tower has cute bars, the best grocery store (hot bologna fresh on Thursdays! plus their own unique meats daily like potato or blueberry sausage), ice cream, and coffee shops - and the legendary Rick's Relics thrift store. McKinley Beach was a 5-minute drive away on Lake Vermillion for the hot days we had!Hope to stay again next year!! Thank you!"
