George Hotel
8/10 Good
"A historic building in a central position in Frome, clearly an old coaching inn or similar. The bedrooms sit within a maze of staircases and corridors. Some stairs are best suited to young mountain goats. My room was on the top floor, up a narrow, steep stair with a tricky turn. My stick and I managed it, just, and staff brought up and took down my case. I expected an attic-type room, but it was spacious, with high ceilings, nicely laid out and with a clean, well-maintained bathroom - full complement of shower anti-slip mat, fluffy towels, and bath mat. The window to the front was open and Friday night in Frome is 'lively.' I asked for it to be closed for following nights. Breakfast was served in the bar. A fair choice of cereals, fruit juices, croissants, tea/coffee and a cooked breakfast menu to choose from, delivered plentiful and hot. The cooked element can be slow in coming if the room is full and any items in addition to the set menu, e.g. a second slice of toast, will be charged separately. Overall, fair price, charming venue, quirky accommodation, clean and warm...recommended, but not wholly accessible."

"Ok place to stay"
Old Mill Salisbury
10/10 Excellent
"The old Mill just isn’t a place to stay. It’s an experience. You walk into a different world at a slower pace. You have to take the time to feel the cracks in the stone structure that will soon be over 1000 years old. This is not a place to take for granted that you have the honour of being able to stay within its walls. They speak to you. They give you that sense of grounding from which you can wander. The town is a quick 15 minute walk through an amazing field that gives majestic views of the Salisbury Cathedral. You can talk to the birds and smile at the sheep. You can listen to the bull rushes that are waving hello and goodbye on the side of the trail. You can wish for just enough sun and rain to spill a sunset and a rainbow in duality. Staying here is not for the faint of heart. Be ready for the rain, be ready for the wind, and be ready for your breath to be taken away. To the staff, thank you. Thank you for making me always feel welcome. Thank you for providing me with a cosy warm and musically engaging place to be able to start, spend and wrap up each day in. You all create such a beautiful space that arriving here makes you want to stay for as long as you possibly can. Much love from Canada and I hope to see you again soon."
The Hillbrook Hotel - Sherborne
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful friendly staff and super clean suite. Couldn't fault anything about the hotel or food. Shame the bar and restaurant aren't open at night."

10/10 Excellent
"Good overnight stay in Salisbury. Room wasn't quite ready when I arrived, but the staff looked after my bag, so I could take a walk around the city centre and visit the cathedral. My room was very comfortable and quiet, even with the heavy rain overnight. I had a lovely breakfast the following morning. The hotel is very convenient for sightseeing, as everything is within 15 minutes walk. Only downside is the small car park."
The Riverside, WorldHotels Distinctive
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic Stay with Incredible Views! Amazing hotel with stunning scenery and convenient free parking on-site. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and the air conditioning was a fantastic touch. The river view room certainly didn’t disappoint—we had an incredible direct view of both the river and the cathedral! My only minor suggestions for improvement would be adding a small fridge in the room and providing a bit more counter/surface space in the bathroom for toiletries. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended!"

"Beautiful old building! History! Great food and menu"
Rose and Crown Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"We loved staying in this 13th century inn. We were given a room in the original section of the inn - amazing wattle and daub walls, original timber work and wonky floors! The River Avon flows past the front of the Rose and Crown property. A beautiful settling and a privilege to be able to stay here! If you love history, this is the place to stay in Salisbury."

"Great hotel. Well located for the airport. Clean and well presented with a nice bar and restaurant. Only downside was that our room was located at the front of the hotel and on a Friday night the road was very busy and noisy well into the early hours."
