"Very basic as expected, however staff had stayed to check us in when we arrived very late and were extremely nice and helpful. Rooms basic but bed comfortable and clean bedding. All we wanted for an overnight stop."

The main house is beautiful (some renovation work is ongoing but is unobtrusive); our room was very comfortable; breakfast was very good; the swimming pool was fantastic and the welcome we received (from reception staff and from the owner and his wife) was very warm and friendly. "Thoroughly enjoyable; warm, welcoming owners. Thoughtful extra touches like help yourself to tea and coffee any time. Opted for dinner. Most enjoyable. Excellent breakfast. Charming building and courtyard. Most atmospheric. Hugely comfortable, artfully decorated bedroom and excellent bathroom. Beautiful view from the window. Very convenient, arrived from the A20 and left the following morning for the A71. Works well for both routes."
