"Perfect place for the family to relax! The house was clean and comfortable, the pond was like bath water. Great location between Ellsworth and the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park. Our group was able to split up to explore and spend time hanging at the pond wading, swimming, and kayaking. We all slept like babies in the cozy, fresh linens on comfortable beds. We will definitely be back!"

"The Machias River Inn being my first time being there, and living in the state of Maine it was 10/10. The cleanest room that you can tell was cleaned properly (I’ve stayed elsewhere in the state and can tell when housekeeping leaves behind trash visible in plain sight it wasn’t cleaned or swept). Helen’s restaurant has the best pie and it’s right on the property. The waterfront views were remarkable! We watched seals every morning. Also not to take away from guides but honestly if you go to any beach nearby you’re going to see Seals and puffins if you don’t want to pay the cost of a boat tour!"

"Perfectly located away from Bar Harbor crowds with convenient access to beautiful Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia. Quiet area. Great view of harbor. Nice yard for pet. Can take Winter Harbor ferry to Bar Harbor or 60 minute drive. Enjoyed the cool nights and being able to open windows at house. Two bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms were great. Highly recommend!"
