This property worked well as an overnight stopover located very close to Cologne main station. It is tired looking in its decor (not all lights were in order for example and the carpet was faded in places) but the room was very spacious and clean. The floor standing air con unit together with the double window units did a decent job of damping the sounds of road and rail traffic. A big shout out to the female receptionist who gave us a really warm welcome.

The room was very large and comfortable and had a hotplate, refrigerator and sink and large closet, large tv, full size bed, large windows with blackout shades, provided a large fan. Everything was great and 3 minutes from the main train station. Excellent stay and very friendly staff.

The staff was amazing, and the property deserves 5 stars. It was perfect for the price. It is close to HBF and the cathedral, and it also has private parking.

Basic room near the train station. Clean and convenient to cathedral. We were here for just a night so didn’t need extra services like a restaurant/bar. Very friendly staff which always helps.

We enjoyed our stay. It was close to the train station and close to attractions. Staff are friendly. I was surprised how everything in the hotel was not updated. The rugs in the elevator and rooms were worn out and outdated, the curtains were very old and the elevator was small.

Good hotel for the price. Don’t expect a fancy hotel with new furnitures. This hotel is quite old, but has everything you need. The room is clean, with even a small kitchen. I got a room free upgrade by the reception lady which was awesome. That room also had a nice balcony. The male receptionist of around 50/60 years of age was however quite rude.

It was a very nice and big room for a weekend. The people working were very nice the whole time despite my bad german. The stairs were a nightmare sometimes but that was because of my own foot being messed up so that isnt a them problem😌

Outdated and misleading

Not sure why it’s rated as a 4-star hotel and has really good reviews. It was probably a great hotel 30 years ago but it’s old not really in a charming way and smells a bit musky. I thought I had filtered for hotels with AC and it turned out this hotel only had certain rooms with AC so book wisely. It was terrible when I had booked us there over the 38C heatwave thinking we’re getting a room with AC. Fortunately there was a fan and the windows can be opened wide. Reception staff is indeed very friendly and the location is close to the Hbf
