The old cinder block building has a long history of uses, including a chinchilla hut, garage, and music studio, before it was remodeled to a vacation rental in January 2021. The larger bedroom features a queen-size bed, the smaller bedroom a twin-size bunk bed, and the living room a double-size futon couch. BaseCamp can accommodate six people total. We’ve stocked the kitchen with everything you need including a few basic staple items like coffee and tea, flour and sugar. BaseCamp has free wi-fi, Roku TV, and the capability for online movie streaming.
Built with practical outdoor enthusiasts in mind, BaseCamp is small, simple, rustic, and cozy — a comfortable place to relax after a day of adventure. Conveniently located just off Highway 330 and about a mile outside the town of Collbran, it’s an ideal home base for exploring the surrounding outdoor recreation areas. Guests have full access to BaseCamp's amenities, including a private courtyard and dedicated parking area.
BaseCamp is located on the same property as Grandma’s House, another vacation rental that is currently being remodeled, and the contractor may be living onsite in an RV while working on the project. There’s plenty of space for everyone, and during construction, we do our best to honor the peace and quiet our guests come here to enjoy.
Businesses in Collbran close by around 8 PM, so if you plan to arrive late, it’s a good idea to bring any food or supplies you may need with you.
We welcome house trained and well behaved pets (maximum 2) that like to sleep in their own beds on the floor. We provide pet bowls and sheets; please bring your own pet bed, food, and other supplies.
The first two hours of cleaning are included in your nightly rate. If additional cleaning is needed after checkout, a fee of $25 per hour may apply. This fee may be assessed for extra cleaning related to things like a messy kitchen, pet hair on furniture or bedding, excessive mud, or other conditions requiring additional time and attention.
We will send you a reservation confirmation message shortly after you book your stay, and we will send you directions to Basecamp either the day before or the day of your arrival. If you make your reservation through Expedia, please check your VRBO account and/or email for our messages. Sometimes these messages go to your junk mail, so please check your spam folder if you haven't heard from us!
If you prefer a vacation rental that is a bit more mountainous or an experience a little more rugged, we have three other vacation rentals that might suit your needs. One is a guest room built in a silo (The Silo), another is a hundred-year-old cabin (The Stagecoach Cabin), and the other is a quonset hut and sheep wagon (Steel and Wool Sheep Camp). All are listed on VRBO.
