"Enjoyed our stay. Great location, parking close at hand. Staff were excellent and the breakfast was good. However, we found he sound proofing/ double glazing in our room to be sub standard for a city centre hotel. Our room was looking onto a busy street and didn't sleep too well due to the traffic noise and voices coming from outside. "

"All the staff were brilliant; really cheerful and helpful! Good selection of items for the buffet breakfast. Beds were really comfy; was good that the rooms came with extra pillows so that I didn’t have to ask for that separately. The hotel is in a really good location for the train and bus station. I’d probably stay here again."

"Superb stay"

"The location is convenient, staff are super friendly and food in the restaurant is very good. But the problem is that the rooms are not at all noise proof and the temperature controls are useless. I had a sleepless night in a cold and noisy room."

"The Station Hotel has a very convenient location—right across from the train station / Union Square and within walking distance of the city centre. The price is reasonable, which makes it appealing for budget travellers. However, I wouldn’t stay here again. The room showed clear signs of wear and tear, particularly the bathroom door, which was falling apart at the bottom, and missing grout in many of the floor tiles. The double bed was actually two singles pushed together at different heights, which made it uncomfortable. Because of its location, the hotel was very noisy, and it seemed there was little soundproofing between the windows and the road meaning we barely slept. Staff were friendly, but the reception area had an overpowering smell. Non-smokers will also find it unpleasant that people smoke right at the main entrance. Overall, while the location and price are good, the room condition, noise, and entrance environment mean I would not return."

"Clean room friendly staff"

"Pictures no resemblance to hotel rooms. We found out that it’s two buildings and we were staying in the other half next door to reception. Parking, was told it’s about £15 for a night and isn’t onsite, however road parking is free from 6pm to 8am and then £4/hour up to 2hrs. The building has a manual keypad on the door which was broken and the door was just open. No reception or staff to monitor who is coming or going. You then have to traverse a maze of corridors and staircases with unclear signage as to what rooms are located where. ( another couple also couldn’t find their room). Having finally gone down three different corridors and staircases we managed to find our room. The general state of the corridors and carpet are in very bad condition and dirty. In the room, the carpet is just as dirty as out in the corridors. Our room had bits of tissue on the floor along with chewing gum and several iron imprints. Most of the furniture was sticky to touch and also all the drawers had staining in the bottom of them and two didn’t even have bottoms in them as they were broken. In the bathroom, there was ancient dried on urine all over the base of the toilet and the shower had mould and hair all over it. There were no towls in the room so had to go back outside to reception to ask. Bed linen was clean though. Despite booking breakfast, we were told that there isn’t any as the kitchen is closed for refurbishment. Also TV doesn’t work as not connected to the internet or aerial. "
