Windmill Village Hotel, Golf Club & Spa, BW Signature Collection
10/10 Excellent
"The staff were so understanding and considerate about my returning late and needing to park my car. They kindly explained that if I returned and could not find a parking space, I could stay safely in my car and call the number they had provided. Someone would come out and help me. I was genuinely touched by this kindness. It was something I never expected, and it made me feel cared for, reassured, and safe. It is the kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff that make a hotel truly special. I am very grateful for the care and consideration they showed me. Lucky 8 is fortunate to have such wonderful staff, and they deserve to be recognised for their excellent service."

"Room was clean, food in restaurant was good ,staff was friendly, lights in room 220 where I stayed I had no main light,so made it very dull and dark, need better lighting. Room was very cold but heater was good enough to warm it. Parking is free if you stay weekends, but cost £10 week day's 24hours seems unfair overall a good stay"

Telegraph Hotel - Coventry

"This is a character filled hotel. It is stylish and wall decoration includes large old photographs of the days of the paper. The atrium roofed dining room is beautiful with a border of old newspaper pages between the ceiling and glass roof. Rooms are very nice with wood features and a pleasant colour palette. Bathroom has a nice large shower. Unfortunately the breakfast disappointed. The coffee machines served undrinkable latte and the worst hotel coffee I have ever tasted. I tried the pork sausages and they disintegrated into an unpleasant paste and they were salty. The other items were ok. I arrived 9am with still an hour and a half of time left and there was no scrambled egg left, there were no Danish pastries and the only fruit pieces were 1 apple and maybe a pear. I got my awful coffee and sat down watching the two staff standing ready to take guest room numbers. They were friendly and cleared tables very efficiently but it was clear they had not been allocated separate jobs including checking the buffet and letting the kitchen know when dishes are low. I had to tell them. The eggs thankfully came out quickly. On day two there were three staff and the scrambled eggs dish was empty, as was the mushrooms and the Danish. Two staff stood taking room numbers or clearing tables, the third took special orders. I did not see them proactively getting items replenished and had to tell them again. The eggs had to be cooked and the Danish never arrived. Poor management, not staff."
