"One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were extremely clean. The bathroom shower was amazing! The brunch at the Baraboo Supper Club was delicious! You are essentially downtown and can walk to many restaurants/bars/shops in the immediate vicinity. You have the option to purchase the items you see in your hotel room. This is a unique experience for me, there were many things that surprised me not just buying the robe, the lotions and soaps, you could also purchase an Ice Bucket, the charging pad, or the stereo! Pay attention if you decide to not valet your car. The parking lot at the back of the building has the QR Scan/App to pay for parking. A maximum per day parking session was approximately $23. Be careful this ends at midnight so you need to renew at that time or shortly after to avoid any parking tickets. One caveat to this is that you must select the "max" if you park for more than 5 hours. The unfortunate part is that you have to pay the max session rate even if you pull in at 7PM, you don't get 24 hours (7PM on Day 1 to 7PM on Day 2) you're still renewing at midnight. All that to say, the valet is a little more expensive per day, but you don't have to worry about being up at 12AM to renew parking."

"Clean, spacious room; very comfortable overall. It's a lovely property and I can see why it's so popular. But popular meant hordes of kids screaming in the pool and splashing in the hot tubs, making them pretty much inaccessible for anyone seeking relaxation. (I did manage a lovely quiet soak in the indoor hot tub by getting there at 6:15 am my second day.) Popular also meant kids running in halls and in rooms, and if you're on the lower level, you'll wish for more sound insulation between floors. Popular also meant no room at the breakfast buffet Saturday morning. Pay attention when you choose your room. There is "Standard" (parking lot view), and "View," which given the name of the hotel I thought meant a river view, but no, it means inner courtyard with pool and pool bar view. Keep looking for "River View," a separate (quiet) wing fronting on the actual river. It would have been worth the extra price. Also, the restrooms for the Event Center were out of order, so the hotel designated guest rooms on our hall to be the Event Center bathrooms -- lots of traffic the night there was a wedding in the Event Center. I assume this was a temporary glitch and soon fixed. Any why oh why does any hotel think non-fitted sheets are a good idea? Bottom sheets were too short and pulled out -- very uncomfortable. And beware if anyone in your party has a down sensitivity. Not only were half the pillows down, but the comforters too! I'd stay here again but choose my room more carefully."

"Rambler with plentiful windows and remodeled kitchen suited our needs while visiting our new grand baby in Boise for 11 days. Jim & Barbara have outfitted the kitchen with basic tools including a drip coffee maker, electric tea kettle, hand mixer, colander and cheese grater. The space would benefit from:1. a pepper grinder (I left one)2. kitchen scissors3. aluminum foil4. plastic wrap5. stapler 6. rubber bands The bathrooms are nicely updated and the huge microfiber towels are a great idea for minimizing streaks.Only difficulty I encountered was the squishy bed—it seemed like a double rather than queen, which was an adjustment since we usually sleep on a king. I could not sleep soundly most nights due to the lack of back support. I don’t know if others would have as much trouble as I did (I’ve had two back surgeries and need a firm mattress), but the lack of sleep did affect my daytime energy.Their veggie garden is beautiful as are the front yard’s flowers. Overall, this was a peaceful stay is a quiet neighborhood with many apparent retirees. Jim and Barbara, who were occupying the other half of the duplex, were responsive to our requests, which I appreciated, as I spent most of my waking hours cooking or sewing for a sleep-deprived new mama."
