"Libby, the host could not have been more helpful. She was an absolute star helping us organise trips and transport. Her warm welcome and that of her staff made our trip to Cuba, and in all she simply could not do enough for us. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. The room perfectly acceptable for the price and the beach at Playa Larga gorgeous. The hostal was perfectly positioned for the beach being only a few meters away ( at a guess, less than 100). Do not expect 5* homogenised luxury. Do expect to meet real people whose warmth and kindness made my stay perfect. "

"Casa Frank is a great choice if you’re staying in Playa Larga. It’s located right next to the bus station and a small cluster of shops, bars, and restaurants, and it’s ten minutes walk from Caletón with its beachfront restaurants. Our room was great, with comfortable beds and lots of space and two patios we could sit out on for drinks and some cards. Breakfast was $5 each and was incredible. The property has a swimming pool and jacuzzi but these currently aren’t operational - perfectly fair as they weren’t in the listing when we booked, but I imagine if these are brought back into use Casa Frank will be even better! There’s also a generator in case of electricity cutting out, which is handy. Our only minor issue was that our host only had very limited English, but a translator was easy to get hold of for explaining trips etc we could book. Still, given English is listed as a host language we were a little surprised. "

"I had a fantastic stay at this home. My hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They made me feel part of the family and were really helpful to enable me to book tours during my stay. They served a lovely breakfast and evening meal. The room was basic but absolutely fine for what I needed and the balcony area was a pleasant place to sit and take in the sea breeze. The beach is close by and the accommodation felt relaxed, homely but with privacy. My hosts really made this the best part of my trip by really making me feel welcome. I highly recommend this accommodation to experience Cuban life!"
