"Lovely hotel, centrally located. Staff on reception very helpful.
Tip if using the indoor swimming pool - bring a cap.It would be hlepful if this was made clear on the booking."

"I’m not sure I would have survived my pilgrimage from Lisbon to Santiago de Compostela without these 2 nights at the Flor de Sal - their spa and restaurants were invaluable! Excellent service and value! O"
"The building is older but the rooms are updated and very nice, very comfortable bed and big walk in shower. The indoor pool and sauna are a big plus for me! You can walk all around the old town from here, which is really charming."
"Excellent stay. Very clean, new and comfortable. Also, the host was very hospitable. My favorite part was that it was close to all the attractions and next to the river. It also had all the amenities of an apartment. Nuno, we will return and hope that others can benefit from you hospitality and apartments. "
"Loved the little patio with chairs overlooking the river and tree lined street. Great location and excellent breakfast. The hotel is clean and rooms clean with good amenities. "

"A fabulous stop on the Camino for our family. Made use of the swimming pool (but remember to bring swim caps as they are 5 euros to purchase on site). Spacious rooms. Incredibly comfortable beds. Fabulous breakfast buffet. "
"We have a large family consisting of married couples and some with children and so we offered it is an open house to arrive and depart when you want over the three weeks that we hired the property in August and it did not disappoint. A 50 minute taxi ride from Porto we spent the first two weeks just using Ubers to get into Viana which is about a 10 minute drive away and the amazing beaches which straddle each side of the town, the final week we did hire a car. The property is immense with beautiful shaded areas to relax and read in and fruit orchards , our Grandsons especially enjoyed picking the oranges and making orange juice , it even has a mini football pitch . The kitchen is really well stocked and we loved cooking most nights and BBQ the amazing range of fresh fish you will find in the local supermarkets. My treat every morning was walking over to the local village which took just over 20 mins and buying the freshest breads and cakes as well as enjoying a fab coffee. The swimming pool was great fun and is not deep so really safe for young children and is fed by a complex of fresh waterpipes and features. Bedrooms are basic as you would expect in a old stone built house but everything was clean and working , I even had my own office to do some work I needed to do. The owner Paulo spoke great English and was really helpful with anything we needed , to sum up we had an amazing family holiday in an undiscovered part of Europe."
Casa Noble century. XVIII with private pool, balconies and spectacular views!
10/10 Excellent
"My wife, our two young boys and I, had the most fabulous stay at Casa Sao Joao.
We rented the left wing apartment of the house, overlooking the pool. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable, with ice cold a/c for the hot days, of which there were many!
The manor house is set in the most sumptuous grounds, with lovely shady vine tunnels surrounding the pool, leading to deeper depths of the garden and many flowers in bloom.
The pool was a delight. Perfect to spend the day by or taking an evening dip after a hot day exploring attractions.
Joao and Mafalda, the hosts, deserve a special mention as their hospitality was really touching. We were truly welcomed, like a part of their family. So much so we enjoyed the best Shrimp salad, prepared by Mafalda and were serenaded by Joao, playing traditional folk music on his accordion. What a treat! We soon came to appreciate Joao's recommendations of places to visit and eat, were extremely valuable too!
We can't wait to return!
