"We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend stay at Warner Hall. The hosts Christina and Fred were very welcoming and the house and property is amazing. The house (more like mansion) and rooms are huge and comfortable with lots of space for reading a book, etc. We really enjoyed the morning coffee and tea service brought straight to our rooms. We felt like royalty! There's so much history to the Warners, we had no idea. Definitely highly recommend this place if you're looking for a break from being busy busy."

River Vacation
"The check in process was simple and easy. The house was spacious enough for my large family. There was a dock for the boat and the swimming area was great. The kids had a blast swimming and playing on the water mat. Early mornings and evenings were peaceful as you watched some wildlife. A great time was had by everyone."

Gorgeous waterfront home
"We had a lovely stay, and it was very close to Fishing Bay Yacht Club, where my daughter was sailing in a regatta. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the beds were comfortable. The views and garden were breathtaking! Highly recommend this property!"

Waterfront with Private Pier and Tranquil Water views!
5/5 Excellent
A beautiful and restful spot!
"I had a fantastic stay at the cottage in Gloucester. It is very comfortable, nicely decorated, and stocked with everything I needed. The views from the sun room and the back deck are stunning and beautiful. Most importantly, Lisa was a wonderful host. When I had issues with the TV (turned out to be nothing more than dead batteries on the remote needing to be replaced), she came right out to help, which was honestly more than I expected. In addition, we had a brief but strong storm one of the nights I was there (which does happen, of course), and the power to the neighborhood went out for perhaps two hours. Everything I needed was on hand (candles, flashlight, etc.) and she stayed in touch via text with updates until the lights were back on, which made me feel safe and cared for. I used my time at the cottage to rest in between work activities, and to see a bit of the lovely part of the world where the cottage is located. The sun room was a particularly nice spot to relax. The neighborhood was quiet and the cottage felt very private.Highly recommended! I definitely hope to return before too long."

"It was a nice get away for our wedding anniversary. We were able to bring our dogs and use the private strip of beach a couple of cottages away. This was a great quiet trip. The only thing that could have been better is the AC in the cottage. A window unit is provided but with 90 temps it couldn’t keep up."

"This house has beautiful views and it was only about 45 min to Williamsburg. It is on Hills Bay, which flows into the Chesapeake Bay. The water is very shallow and would be great for younger kids. We brought kayaks and enjoyed our time on the water. It would be fantastic for someone that owns a boat too. The water doesn’t have many waves, but we tied a party size float to part of the dock and all the kids, ages 10-19, loved our time there. Since I’m the first review, I think I might be the first renter since the purchase, but there was only one coffee cup and the kitchen could be stocked a bit more-plenty of dishes (and even plastic wrap, foil, trash bags, dish, and hand soap) but limited cooking utensils, cookware, and no containers for leftovers and such. Not a big deal, but might be to someone planning to cook quite a bit. The property managers were AMAZING and always quick to respond! Honestly, the best renting experience we have had! If you like seafood, The Seafood Shack and Richardsons are great! Southwind Pizza is wonderful. Make reservations for Thurs live music. The Island Stop has Chesapeake Bay Twinkies (jalapeños, cream cheese, crab, old bay, wrapped in bacon and glazed with old bay bbq sauce. Watch their fb page for when they have those. The shaved ice guy there is also super nice! You can see Deltaville (check out their minor league baseball schedule) and Gwynn’s Island from the house. Fireworks all around (we stayed on July 4th) were spectacular! LOVED it!"

"Nice quiet location on the Chesapeake is exactly what we wanted. Watching the dolphins in the morning was great. Being from Wisconsin around noisy cities of Milwaukee and Chicago this getaway was perfect. Thank you "

'Pop Castle' Historic Gem on the Rappahannock River
5/5 Excellent
"The Wedding of Her Dreams"
"Where do I begin?...This spot is where my daughter & her fiancé wanted to marry. The Rappahannock carries special meaning for them...it's where they began their love story, and where they were engaged. Pop Castle is a warm, beautiful place for an event...only surpassed by the warmth and kindness of it's owners. The home is historic, well-maintained, and so comfortable! No detailsforgotten. Amazing kitchen! Bathrooms immaculate and the most comfy beds! This is truly a place for relaxation and sharing joy with friends & family! It has every amenity for a large gathering...beautiful views and grounds, places to spread out and come together! As Mother of the Bride, I was not as relaxed as I would have liked! But...all the more reason to return with the folks we treasure for another "Rivah" Respite! Many Thanks to Walid & Ginny for opening up your extraordinary home for this unforgettable event for our family. Cheers!!"
