The Donjon (Tower) Room is a unique experience I'll never forget. The two-story room sits high in the Château's main turret, where a bedroom graces the lower level and glass-floor bathroom (!!) has been crammed into the upper reaches of the tower. The toilet sits in a tiny enclosed stall, so at least your covered there. But watch your head - those arches hang low, especially in the middle of the night after you've bobbled up a narrow set of winding stairs. Also, how is it that the bidet sits across the glass floor from the toilet??

Regardless, this is an entertaining room, and one to book if you're looking for a bit of an adventure. But pack light - the turret stairs are difficult to navigate with bags in tow!

Historical perspective: The Château was built in the 15th century and later visited by Kings Charles VII and Louis XII. It also played host to General Charles de Gaulle, who stayed here before fleeing to England ahead of the advancing German army.

"Both immersed into the nature and easily connected to any of the surrounding attractions (e.g. the many castles, the beautiful Beauval zoo, etc.), the accomodation has anything an average family with children could desire. Definitely recommended!"

You'll need a car to access this property, however, there is a grocery store and bakery for morning breakfast near-by (~10 minutes by car).
