"We made the Palace Hotel our base for three nights while celebrating recent nuptials. This Victorian building is full of character with high ceilings and very generous lounging spaces. Quiet and comfortable for a good night’s sleep. All meals are taken in cafes and restaurants a few steps away. Some require reservations a few weeks in advance because of demand in high season. World class hiking 1.5hr drive away. Very pleasant walks around town and port for non-hikers. Day trips on the ferry. Bring wind breakers! "
