Modern clean hotel

Staff were extremely helpful. Our room was clean and modern with a small balcony overlooking the river. Reception staff were able to answer all our questions and the hotel is close to the main area and bus stops.

We were so lucky to book at this hotel as it had magnificent views of the River. We had a fabulous time and the hotel itself was so beautiful and all the staff just lovely and helpful. They were always very pleasant.

I absolutely loved my stay at Fortune River View Hotel. I had a room facing the Mekong and it was beautiful. There is a walkway right out front of the hotel where you can walk, run, or ride your bike and it goes for quite a ways. I had dinner in the restaurant and not only was the food good, the portions were quite large.

Sunrise at the Mekong River.

This is a very nice property, located on the shore of the Mekong River. The on-site restaurant has good food and cold drink. We needed a hotel for our morning departure to take a slow boat down the Mekong River, and this was perfect. The balcony room, and sunrise over the river is enchanting. Highly recommended.

Good hotel for one night stop before heading on

Large functional hotel next to river . Lovely views at sunrise and sunset over the Mekong . Room large , clean & comfortable. Swimmimg pool looked dirty so didn't use. Communal areas looked tired . .Breakfast fresh. No food available at restaurant in evening , so walked a short way upstream along riverside to first local place called Rim Nahm and excellent local food there!

Newer hotel in Chiang Khong

We stayed here as an impromptu stop on our group motorcycle ride through northern Thailand. The rooms were modern and new. Bed was comfortable, staff very nice and they allowed us to park our motorcycles near the front of property. Staff were all very friendly and spoke some English. The onsite restaurant was very good for lunch, breakfast was fair. The property is located a little bit off the road/highway so you need to look carefully for the signage. There's not a lot going on in the town, so it's not great for tourists - but for our needs (a comfie night's rest) it was perfect. Hotel is located on the river, so I'd recommend spending the extra few $'s on a riverfront room.

Overpriced for the quality of the place. We did get a free upgrade to a room with a balcony overlooking the Mekong however there were no tables or chairs on any of them. Breakfast was OK, for the quality of the hotel it could have been much better. Housekeeping forgot our room one day eventually getting there evening time.

Lovely river view

Overall a wonderful stay. Definitely request the river view. Very beautiful. I would have rated it a perfect 5, however after booking through Expedia, I contacted hotel directly to inquire about the possibility of a pick up from the immigration office as well as a couple of other queries. After 3 emails, I did not receive one response. When we arrived at the hotel, I explained my dilemma, the receptionist was very gracious, apologized for the central booking office and gave us an upgrade. Very kind.

Pay for the view.

This newly constructed hotel has a nice layout and a good feel about it. Very friendly staff, especially the breakfast staff and the breakfast was good with the best farm eggs I've ever had in Thailand and I live in Bangkok. The downside of this place is the room size, including the bathroom, with no desk in the room. There is a small cheap sofa against the wall with a small circular table which should be replaced with a desk and a chair. If you want to sit at a table ,you can sit on the balcony. However the room does with reasonable amenities like a safe, coffee and tea making facilities, robes and slippers, etc. Great river view.

Nice hotel but bad dining experience

The room is new and clean. The bed is slightly small for a big size person but it’s comfortable. However, they need to manage their dining room better. I had my dinner at the hotel and they took 15 minutes to come back telling us they were running out of spaghetti then it took almost 1 and a half hour to get simple fried rice and we received the meal after the another table that came after us. We order vegan fried-rice but we received vegeterian fried rice(with eggs)The fried-pork was too hard to chew. It was such a horrible dining experience at the hotel.
