"I have been staying at Hotel 1898 for over 15 years and even chose it for my honeymoon, so it genuinely saddens me to write this review. It has always been my first choice whenever I visit Barcelona. "Great location very clean facilities. Reception staff were great. Only negative was service at the restaurant was disorganized. It appeared they had new staff and they were doing the best that they could. I would stay here again. Thank you"

"Quiet, loved the balcony and the beds and were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. Very easy to take a taxi and wonderful local restaurants nearby."

"The room size was good but we did not have any day light coming in at all as the room was located around the interior court. So it was very dark at all times, which was not great. Overall, we found the staff not friendly or helpful at all."
