The carriage house was clean and had everything mentioned in the description. There are quirky and artsy touches everywhere and beautiful stone benches throughout the property. The guests next door were rowdy, but not the hosts fault.

This property is beautiful and relaxing. The flowers, landscape and overall rustic nature of this property is very inviting. We enjoyed the bright moon and wide open skies while relaxing in the orchard under the stars. A truly magical place to unwind.

Enjoyed the nighttime sky and country feel of this rustic stay. Check out the mine shaft restaurant down the street if you get hungry! Make sure your car is ready for little dirt roading!

A Serene Quick Trip!

My partner Elijah and I loved every moment of our stay! From the property’s amazing views to the cute hens in the coop, we adored the whole place. A piece of paradise in Los Cerillos

We spent one night in the carriage house, but could have stayed a week! Jill and Thomas were exceptional hosts. It is truly special to spend a night somewhere that has been someone's passion project for years. From the handmade structures, to the gardens and art throughout the property, you can feel the intentionality with which Jill and Thomas' live their lives. Can't wait to stay for longer!

Peaceful, beautiful stay

Chose this spot for a peaceful getaway and it very much delivered. Gorgeous space on a beautiful property. Hosts were communicative but gave me my space. Heads up, as they mention in the listing there is no cell service. And if the power goes out (as it did at the start of my stay due to storms), the wifi obviously goes down and you really can't talk to anyone outside. In my case, the power outage was just an hour or so, so not a concern. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful Spot, Very Accommodating Hosts!

My friend and I stayed in the Rock Carriage House. The hosts were very prompt with communication, and the grounds are gorgeous. We stayed one night for a concert nearby, so we weren't there very long, but the grounds are so beautiful with shaded sitting nooks throughout the property. The effort the owners have put into all of the natural vegetation, walking paths, decor on the houses and barn... it definitely made for a beautiful and unique stay. The ONLY critique that I have is for the mattress and pillows, but I find that to be a somewhat common issue with vacation rentals. If they had a better mattress, I would rate 10/10. I still rate this a 9/10 experience. It was truly lovely.

A Romantic Getaway in Cerillos

This property is truly a gem! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by every artistically crafted detail—there’s a sense of wonder and care in every corner, and it feels like each piece has its own story. This historic 1800s carriage house is surrounded by stunning nature, making it the perfect escape to recharge and reconnect. Staying here was especially memorable for us, as we got engaged in the beautiful mountains nearby. The setting added a magical backdrop to our experience, and we felt incredibly fortunate to call this place home for a few days. The owners are artists (a writer & studio) & have infused the property with a warm, whimsical charm that makes it feel truly special. As a bonus, a sweet little dog greeted us every morning, lounging outside our door and enjoying some morning scratches while I had my coffee—the perfect addition. The surrounding town of Cerillos is absolutely adorable, with a quaint main street, and Madrid, just a short drive away, offered a quirky, artsy vibe with shops and galleries that were perfect for a day trip. We are beyond grateful for our time here and will treasure the memories we made. Thank you for sharing this incredible place with us!

Different in the winter

Property was as described and important to note that it is a different experience in the winter. Heat is generated by wood fire stove, so can be cold upon arrival, especially if arriving at night (wood provided). Limited breakfast items (oats, oranges)

Remote, Eccentric, Bohemian & Charming

This was a far stretch from our bustling life outside Hilton Head SC! We slept listening to loud crickets rather than loud chirping tree frogs! Also rather than waking up to leaf blowers we woke to sound of a rooster’s crow! We should have planned better coming from Albuquerque airport cause everything shuts down for miles around & the one place to eat “Blackbird Saloon” closes on Wednesday but we ate in Albuquerque & water was 12 miles away. Darlene our host’s sister-in- law greeted us & gave us 1 bottle of water.We had mixed feelings at first but by the end of our 2 day stay we were totally enchanted by the gorgeous views, artistic vignettes throughout the property, beautiful gardens and breathtaking sunsets! As 2 artists also - we really appreciated the art and spent the morning with a cup of coffee meandering through the property with Darlene whom we loved! I took many beautiful photographs since everywhere I turned was something more interesting or beautiful- the lavender billowing over the rock wall, the trickling fountain that ran all night, the fresh morning air was most enjoyable.Our carriage house was charming but confusing & once we settled in it became more comfortable. The light switches are superballs & the rock shower has cell phones for knobs - everything through an artists eye! The hot tub definitely could be cleaner - rock wall did leak pretty bad during a bad storm! Impressive kitchen, beautiful hutch & granite slab for a table - enchanting for sure!

Our stay was ok the female owner was very good to help out with one of the problems we had. My fiancé had problems with the firmness of the mattress and our host graciously got a mattress topper which fixed our problem. I did however send several messages before we arrived and got no response until after we left. Apparently she did not get them until after we left. The description for the property was accurate however there were several things we did overlook I think I should mention. First there is no air conditioning and no tv or microwave. Again this is our fault fault because we failed to notice or did not ask. However the main fact left out of the post is danger of snakes on the property. We read in the information about this danger when we got there and were very aware as we were outside. However on our last morning at about 6:30 am my fiancé walked past a snake inside the entry way to the bathroom within a foot of the animal. (Thank god she was not bit) the snake then crawled under the refrigerator. I then contacted the host by knocking on there door. I told him it was under the fridge and we were outside and he claimed he pulled it out and it was not there. When I tried to check I was reprimanded and told again that he had already looked and that there was no need for me to check then told us there was no slake there any more. We had to abruptly leave about 3 hours before check out. We left it in there and never looked back.
