The power was out on the rainy day we visited this fantastic chateau, which just added to the atmosphere. As we waited outside in the rain a lovely old man came to chat to us (in French). He turned out to be the owner, a descendant of the powerful counts who used its crucial position on the Lot River to protect their interests.
